Very friendly welcome

We have just returned from a four night stay on this site, and found it to tick all the boxes for us. In an elevated position there are lovely views from your pitch with recently upgraded electricity points, and the normal water and waste facilities. We found the location to be great, with Matlock, Chesterfield, Chatsworth all a matter of minutes away by car, as well as bakewell and the surrounding peak district within easy reach. The village nearest had several well rated pubs, the Swan in particular has to be the most dog Freindly pub I have ever seen. Overall a nice site, slight road noise, but I intend to return to see more of what the district has to offer. The owner is very welcoming, a gift of freshly laid eggs, and keen to hear suggestions on how he can improve your experience at the cl.

Eggcelent.

All you need for a peaceful night away for the self sufficient camper. We had the field to ourselves so finding a level pitch was easy and the views fantastic. Had a lovely welcome and the added bonus of free eggs!

JULY 2015. Slate House Farm.

We have just returned from a short break at this new CL site, on arrival the weather was bleak and the surrounding views poor but the welcome from Trevor and his wife was great and the fresh eggs appreciated! The info received about the farm and area was helpful. The sun came out and we spent the days visiting Bakewell, Matlock etc. Nearby Ashover has a lovely local pub and serves good food. We also met Dave and his wife who help out on the farm and they were on hand if we needed anything. We would certainly recommend this site for its location and will be visiting again ourselves.

We visited this club at the beginning of May. Access was easy on to the site & we received a warm welcome from the friendly owners as their first visitors on their new site, also received some of their lovely eggs. The village of Ashover is approx 45 mins walk through fields or by car around 5-10 mins, where there are 3 pubs - all serve food. Good fish & chip shop in New Tupton a couple of miles away & a good farm shop with tea room close by. Easy access to water and chemical toilet emptying point & bins for recycling. The site has amazing views over to Bolsover castle, Hardwick Hall and surrounding countryside, and if you can cope without electricity and toilet facilities this site is worth a visit.          Will probably visit again in the future, being not too far from home for us .
