Perfect peaceful stay

Sleepy hollow was a perfect little CL. Before I arrived Helen offered me the field space that I’d have to myself. But they also had a hard standing pitch available if the weather wasn’t good enough for the field. When I arrived I realised the field would be perfect it was just me and my little dog with beautiful views. The little walk they’ve made with beautiful views was a must every evening. The facilities were always spotlessly clean and very hot water. There was a notice board that Helen filled with lots of info and events in the local area, and she gave me tips on where to park in different places which certainly helped. Matlock bath is a lovely little town to visit for a walk and mooch around the shops. Chatsworth was beautiful I walked around the grounds and it was so impressive. I also went on lots of hikes in the area and this was a perfect location to explore everywhere I wanted from Winnats pass, to Luds church. Such a wonderful stay I had didn’t want to leave there was nothing better than cooking my breakfast over looking the views I did! I’ll definitely be back.

Our perfect type of CL.

This is our preferred style of CL. Good pitches. Great facilities, with one of the best hot water supplies we've ever encountered. ( Perhaps a little rustic for some?) A great area, with Carsington Waters close by for water sports and bird watching. Matlock Bath is well worth the visit, with a cable car up Heights of Abram. Kedleston Hall is a National Trust property and ranks as one of the best IMHO. Crich Tramway Living Museum and much more. Adam and Helen are welcoming and helpful hosts, it really is a gem.

Beautiful site

This site is a little gem and such a beautiful position. Helen and Adam gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived and lots of helpful information beforehand. The site was clean and very well maintained. The toilet, chemical toilet disposal point and shower was quirky and perfectly adequate. Shower was warm with lots of space which is so good when you have children. A lovely dog walk over the surrounding field with wonderful views across Carsington Water. We had two grandchildren with us who loved the site and space available. We walked to Wirksworth across the field and had a trip on the steam railway to Duffield. The following day we cycled around the water (Circa 8 miles) having driven down to the Car Park approx 5 mins away. Will definitely return and the boys are asking already when can we return. Back to nature

A great no frills natural site within fantastic surroundings, generous pitches and with easy access to Wirksworth (shops 1 mile), Carsington Water and the lovely village of Brassington (visiting old friends there). Superb value and a friendly welcome from Helen and Adam. Quirky facilities but clean and functional. I would recommend a walk to the top of the site with a G&T in your back pack for sundowners; sit on the dry stone wall with superb views down the valley to the reservoir and watch the sun set, marvellous. Stayed a week in Jul 24, definitely worth a repeat vist.

Perfect

The site is perfect for us to visit family in Wirksworth. But even if it were not for the convenience, the site is exceptional for a CL with spacious pitches and a neatly constructed toilet and shower block. Helen gave us a warm welcome and checked everything was OK for us. Highly recommended.

Great site

This is a great site for a visit to explore the area around Carsington Water and Wirksworth. Helen sent us useful information including directions before our visit we had a warm welcome from Helen and Adam when we were there. The site is kept very tidy and our pitch was very spacious and level. The facilities are quirky but very good and our dog enjoyed her walks in the field by the site. There are plenty of footpaths to explore the local area. Wirksworth is very interesting and well worth a visit.

Sleepy Hollow campsite

We used the route instructions Helen gave us and found the site reasonably well, as we have a habit of getting lost anyway. The site was very well organised and the pitches were a nice size. Helen and Adam were very welcoming and kept the site very clean and tidy. The area was outstandingly beautiful and there were lots of routes to walk or cycle or jump in the car and go further afield. We were here for two weeks and enjoyed every minute. We will be back to this area and will certainly stay here again.

A little Gem

This Cl site is a hidden gem, lovely large hard standing pitches with beautiful surroundings. The facilities are spotless and very quaint with lots of hot water. Helen and her family are super checking on us every day to give us lots of advise on walks, and all other information we needed. Well worth a visit we will be back 10 put of 10.

Fabulous CL

Lovely little CL with everything you might need. The information and directions sent out prior to arriving were excellent. We found our allocated pitch easily and got settled in. Helen was over to welcome us shortly afterwards and is a wealth of knowledge about walking / cycling in the local area. The hard standing pitches are huge and the toilet and shower and pot wash facilities quirky but very clean with plentiful hot water. We would highly recommend the site for exploring the Carsington Water area, just watch out for those hills!
