Peaceful site

This was our first experience of a CL and we loved it. The views are stunning. The site if flat with hardstanding and grass and the pitches are huge. We have a small Eriba caravan and parked across ways to make the most of the views. It was so nice not to have the rules and regs of a club site. The approach road is narrow but posed no problems. Our name was on our pitch on arrival. Each pitch has EHU and its own tap. Yes, the toilets and shower are in a home made shed but they are adequate. The shower was powerful and the water hot. I kept my flip flops on as the floor didn't look overly clean. There are no washing up facilities so we washed up outside in a bowl, this reminded me of my tent camping days and I loved it. The pitch cost £12 in July which is great value. The site is well placed for the A38 (you do a get a little bit of road noise, if the wind is coming from that direction). We enjoyed the steam railway at Buckfastleigh and the fish and chips in the Jolly Rodger they were excellent! Overall an excellent site for camping as it used to be. We are now converts to the CLs.
