Great CL

Stayed here in October 2020 for one night. Pitches well spaced out and local scenery great. Did not see the owner whilst there so paid via bank transfer. No issues and would use again.

Hope to come back for longer

Only had 3 nights here but could easily have spent longer. The site borders a footpath which can be taken in two direction - Horrabridge and Whitchurch/Tavistock. A third route along the farmer's track gives direct access onto Dartmoor and its Tors so bring boots. Route 27 cycleway can be accessed via Grenofen onto a disused RW track which leads to Tavistock via three supermarkets (Morrisons, Lidl and Tesco) and in the other direction Yelverton and eventually Plymouth. There are local shops and pubs in Horrabridge and Whitchurch. The gurgling stream that flows through the site makes up any background noise from the farm.

Lovely Site

Lovely site! Very well looked after with nice size pitches. We were visiting family in Tavistock and found the location convenient and easy to access. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great holiday.

A gem of a site

Visited for four nights at the beginning of July 2019. On arrival you go through the farm yard and pass the garage mentioned in previous reviews. We did not have any issue with the garage, there was some noise but nothing to complain about or intrusive. Met by Lyndsey and his lovely dog, Fern. Well appointed pitches with lawned area, picnic table and chairs. Lyndsey has spare electric cables and toilet chemicals in case you need any as well as various local maps you may borrow. There are at least three water taps dotted around the site, not far to go to refill your Aquaroll. The site is well maintained, charming.and peaceful. There is a lovely dog walk, which Lyndsey will point out to you, towards the moors with lovely views. Easy access to Plymouth, Tavistock and Dartmoor for exploring the area. A quick drive to Morrisons which has a garage, the best Lidl I have ever visited or Tescos (not visited) before you arrive in Tavistock. Try the Tavi Friar for excellent fish and chips. We are looking forward to visiting again as we had such a good time and our stay wasn't long enough.

Noisy garage

Stayed one night, site is pretty but someone in a workshop next to the site was tuning and revving an ending from 17:00 to 22:00 so not the quiet site we had been expecting from the previous reviews.

Brilliant CL

We would also echo previous reviews. Lyndsey is the perfect owner, helpful, knowledgeable, generous and friendly. He keeps the site beautifully but is relaxed and easygoing. Whilst the site is ideally located for accessing the moor and set in beautiful countryside access to 3 supermarkets in Tavistock is quick and easy, the City of Plymouth with multiple amenities and attractions is a short drive away as are the beaches of south Devon. There are a number of extras not mentioned in the listing such as OS maps to borrow and a rotary clothes line on site. We’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful and tranquil

Many have said it already but this site has been lovingly created to make it a haven for guests. The babbling brook, wild flowers and trees make it the perfect place to unwind. Lyndsay’s welcome and friendliness throughout our visit made us feel quite at home. The birdsong here is amazing as is the view from the seat looking over the valley, at the top of the site. The Drake cycle route along a disused railway, is about a mile away. There are a few hills to travel up and down, along the way but it is worth it. You can cycle along it, about 15 miles to Plymouth or 5 mikes into the beautiful town of Tavistock On there site is an occasional sound from the mechanic who has a business down in the farm yard ... he likes his music to help him work. However this really didn’t disturb us to any great extent. We have booked to come back later this year and only wish we lived closer as I’m sure it would be high on our list of favourites CLs

Very attractive site with walking and cycling opportunities nearby...

The site is a labour of love, with its landscaping, stream, shrubs and strategically placed farming bits and pieces of a by-gone age. Choice of grass or hardstanding. Motor mover definitely an asset with one or two of the pitches. Owners very friendly and helpful. Ideal for walking on Dartmoor, and cycling off-road on the Drake's Trail - a 21 mile cycling and walking path. We cycled into Tavistock - well worth visiting, and there's a few walking options from the site. The adjacent vehicle workshop produces noise occasionally, but not intrusively. Would we visit again? Yes.

Fabulous stay, great walks direct onto Dartmoor, Lovely site features, we will visit again.

We have just returned from a lovely three night stay at this CL, it is very attractively landscaped with a small stream running through and old farm implements and stone gateposts etc providing spacious and well spaced pitches both grass and hand standing. The walks direct from the site are simply stunning, direct access onto Dartmoor and surrounding countryside. Equally the lovely town of Tavistock is a stones throw away with all major amenities. The owner was away when we visited but we were very ably assisted by his representative Jeremy and he couldn't do enough to help us, very warm and friendly welcome. Expect normal Farming sounds as this is a working farm, during our stay hay making was taking place and whilst we didn't mind the sounds of the coutryside, being country dwellers ourselves, it may be best to check before booking if you are wanting to avoid busy tractor periods. Another point to make is that the farm has clearly diversified and also houses a motor mechanics workshop and lorry storage area, this means that there is some additional noise from the garage compressor etc but this did not affect our stay and was only running during working hours. Overall a great CL, well meaintained and with everything you need for a very pleasant stay. We are already looking forward to going back.

A great site - A+

A great site with great access. The owner and his dog Fern made our visit so pleasant, Lyndsey could not have been more helpful. The site is well laid out and so much effort has been put in to make the most of this beautiful location.  Thanks Lyndsey.
