Wonderful CL

Enjoyed 11 wonderful nights at this super CL. Hard standing and grass pitches, grass lovely and short and picked up when cut. As we had glorious sunshine when we were there the ground was firm and dry, so can't comment on the grass pitches if very wet. There are ladies and gents toilets and free showers, basic but clean and perfectly adequate, I am a bit fussy with showers but had no problem using these. There is a washer and dryer, £2 per wash just pay in an honesty box. Also washing up area with information. This CL with its facilities and location for £12 per night £1 for awnings, is exceptional value. Not sure whether I would recommend the site for families with young children as very quiet. The views over the sea are lovely, and we had some cracking sunsets. Even though it was half term the roads there were very quiet so easy to get around to all the lovely places to see all within easy reach, isolated beaches, forest, coastal paths, nature and lighthouses. The quirky Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel well worth a visit. Had one meal out at The Crown Hotel in Portpatrick as we had friends staying there, excellent food, and also a lovely village, and harbour. Good coastal walks from there too. We have never visited this area of Scotlanf before, usually head up to the Highlands, only booked this CL the day before we left as the weather forecast was good for up that area. We were pleasantly surprised with the area and the great CL and sure we will be back.
