The site is very well maintained, with neatly cut grass, serviced pitches (apart from water, which is planned for next year) and the cleanest shower and toilet block you could wish for! The shower block was warm even in the coldest weather, with piped music and it was immaculately clean. We felt that the shower rooms don't need to be male and female but could be unisex, so that a couple can share toiletries, and one could be showering whilst the other is drying, so saving time especially if the site is full - although we never had to queue. Just a thought! We did find the road rather noisy during the day but it wasn't so bad at night and we actually slept very well. We loved the ducks and donkeys, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We found it a very professional site, with an office and a small shop for essentials. We have stayed on sites with metered electricity before, but mainly in the summer, and were surprised at how quickly the meter ran out. The allowance was 10 units per day / £21 a week. We were out most of the time, as we were visiting relatives over Christmas, but we did find the electricity to be more than we had expected, topping it up by £15 (effectively, this was for 4 days as we were out for 3 days). We'd certainly stop over again to visit relatives or on a journey north.
