Adequate and pleasant.

Small cl that could be so much better, although adequate. It forms an L shape around a small fenced field. It would struggle with 5 units unless well placed. Biggest minus is that it feels uncared for. Long grass cut and left clods on our shoes/ feet. Fresh water and waste areas just need a bit of improvement. Bins full to overflowing. It's cheap but would benefit from small improvements with a modest increase in cost.

Quiet site in pleasant countryside area...

Nice quiet cozy CL with sheep over the fence. Stately homes to visit, good walks and The Pub With No Name has atmosphere and good food. Grass needed a cut though, and branches at the entrance needed pruning back. I removed some of them before I exited. Friendly owners and only £10 per night. Would I go back? Yes.

April 2016

Quiet basic site, but be careful if there's been a lot of rain as site can get sticky. However, we were offered a tow off with the tractor. Easy access to site from road.  Waste facilities adequate but update imminent according to manager. Only £9 per night when we stayed, bargain.

Peace & Tranquility

Starter Gate is an excellent well established little site if you are looking for a peaceful stay. Nice and easy to find with a friendly warm welcome from the owners, There are also a couple of nice dog friendly country pubs about a 3 mile walk, only down side is that all the walks are on the main road. For the more adventurous and those not minding a 10 - 15 minute car journey you have Winchester, Basingstoke and Petersfield close by as well as the Water Crest steam railway This site is definitely worth a look and excellent value for money at £8.50 per night including EHU We stayed at the site June 2013

pretty and quiet

Simple, quiet little site. Very welcoming owners. We use this site a lot as only 25 mins from storage so an ideal weekend bolt hole. Lots of places to see in a 10 mile radius or slightly further afield; Portsmouth,Winchester and Southampton. Walks straight from site. You will be guaranteed a quiet restful stay and if you are lucky might see a calf born as we did this spring!
