Quiet site

This is a very quiet site that is close to the motorway so access is good but no noise. Warm friendly welcome to the 5 hard standing pitches. Looks a good location for touring this part of Lancashire. Nice rural views from the pitches. Will use again.

Excellent in every regard.

This is an excellent CL in every respect. It is located in a beautiful tranquil area with a real rural feel.Within a short walk from the site you can find excellent views extending as far as the Lake District, the Fylde coast and the mountains of North Wales. Thanks to Susan, Michael and Will for their excellent and unobtrusive management of the site.

Peaceful, well kept CL.

We were met with a warm welcome and pack of leaflets showing places of interest nearby. The hard standing pitches were large with nicely mowed grass between the outfits. A very neat and well kept CL. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and hope to return.

Welcome beyond none

We came here because of my daughter's wedding. When we arrived the welcome was never experienced before. It was so warm, it was like we were part of their family. Nothing was too much trouble. It wasn't obtrusive but we knew they were always available should we have needed their assistance. The whole area was well cared for as close to immaculate as one can get. The usual necessities were more than neat and tidy and clean. And more importantly our dog was welcomed.

Perfect and Quiet

A top quality adult only CL, adjacent to the nursery and every bit as good as a no facility club site. Slightly sloping, it has big hard-standings and 16 amp hook ups. A very friendly welcome with a pack containing local places to visit. If TV is important to you, the signal is strong as the transmitter is visible to the east of the site. Just off the M6, Preston, Chorley, Wigan and Leyland are easy to get to. If canal walks are your thing, the Leeds Liverpool is 10 mins away by car at Appley Bridge.

First impressions from a newbie.

We spent our first night in our newly bought caravan at Stoney Leach. We chose the site as it is within 15 miles of home and gave us a chance to familiarise ourselves with the caravan, setting it up and learning how everything works without going too far, and the reviews we had read were positive. Without anything/anywhere else to compare it against we are not perhaps the best qualified to pass judgment, we can though report that we received a warm welcome from the owner and a very useful information pack to browse during the course of our stay. There are 5 pitches, all but 1 were occupied on a Monday night in April which we took as a good sign, all hard standing though a slight slope which was easily over come with a wedge under the wheel. The site was clean and well maintained and we found it easy to get water and empty out the following morning. Near enough to the M6 that you could break your journey there and feel you were way out in the country as it was blissfully quiet. All in all a very happy introduction to caravanning and we shall be delighted if all CL's, which are our pricipal intended destinations, live up to the high standard set by Stoney Leach.
