Pretty Little Site in lovely location

We have just returned from a Stay at Strawberry Farm Nursery. We called on the off chance to see if they had a pitch and were lucky enough to be able to book a 2 night stay due to a last minute cancellation. The site is located within the National Park with a ford and cattle grid at the bottom of the lane ( right out of the site) with easy access to the New Forest. To the left is a short walk to the village of Godshill which has pavement all the way. Follow the lane from Godshill to Woodgreen and you are taken through a beautiful nature reserve (at the top of a fairly steep hill) with gorgeous woodland walks. We cycled around the quiet lanes and across the forest tracks enjoying the scenery and stopped at some excellent pubs namely The Foresters, The Royal Oak (really superb Sunday Roast) and The Three Lions. Fordingbridge is just down the road if you need anything. If you follow the road towards Cadnam (left to the junction, then right) you will be treated to a scenic road tour of the New Forest. The site itself was very neat, and well kept with generous pitches which were really well spaced even with 5 units. The EHU was great (didn't trip) and the ground was dry even though we had had rain. You need to have your own facilities for this site and the phone signal is a bit hit and miss as is 4g etc but that didn't bother us at all. All in all its a pretty little non commercial site that's very quiet except for birdsong. The owners were really lovely and gave us a warm welcome. I suspect that they have a lot of regulars returning year after year and indeed we would love to return at some point too. Excellent value and a really enjoyable place to stay when exploring the New Forest.
