What a gem

We stayed at the CL in August Apparently the CL has been moved from its location last year to where it is now, overlooking the lake and the countryside beyond. The toilet referred to in the previous review has now gone. There is a new Elson which is set into the floor and easy to use. The fishermen were few and far between and some of the caravanners were fishing. There was no problem at all. The site is beautiful and well maintained, near to Stamford, Oakham and Rutland Waters. The two pubs however are further away than the distances quoted, the nearest was a good, pleasant, 20 minutes walk, mainly through the countryside but with a dodgy bit on the road with no footpath. Access to the site is up a long, fairly bumpy approach, but so easy to turn onto the actual CL. All in all a wonderfully attractive site, well cared for by the owners. £12.night
