We stayed 20/21 September, the owners more than helpful and flexible about arrival time due to work commitments.
Usual facilities for a CL but the environment beautiful and peaceful, yes there are trains but after the first few didn't even notice. As a horse lover this site ticked all the boxes too. Easy and close access to the forest.
Lane to site a little narrow and I wouldn't want to meet another caravan!
All in all, just perfect and we will most definitely return.
A CL to come back to
This is an excellent CL. The owners are down to earth, friendly and helpful. The farm is actually boarding stables and naturally fascinated my granddaughter, and although there where no other children on site she enjoyed the five day stay. The location is excellent for a quite stay, and at the same time close enough to the coast and attractions of the A337. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site.
Great site on edge of New Forest
This is a great site, quite a sizeable field with a decent view. Nice and clean and friendly owners. Very flexible about how many of you there are, how many visitors you have and you are welcome to look around the equestrian centre and farm.
Don't be put off by the trains that run nearby every 10 or 15 minutes or so. They are relateively quiet, don't vibrate, and after a few had passed we stopped even noticing.
TV is good, so is mobile phone connectivity, but we couldn't get a decent data connection.
We had a great weekend. All three of the other outfits on the site when we were there were on their third or fourth visit. We would definitely consider staying there again.
Great CL
This is a lovely CL with really nice owners.
The CL was clean and tidy with some lovely views.
The pitches were of a really good size.
Shops are only a 5 minute drive away.
We would definetly stay there again!
Down your Sway
The first thing to note is not to use the (2011 -2012) Directory's directions for access - a single track road said to be with passing places, but this is optimistic. The proprietress advised approach from the other direction (through Sway itself) which needs looking up first but is much easier. Secondly, the gate to the field will in fact stay open for entry if you turn it all the way back on itself. Leaving, you have to block the road before you can shut the gate (depends on the length of your outfit of course and it's not a busy lane). The site itself is new (in its second year) but adequate and I get the feeling it will develop into something rather special. At the moment I would say it's slightly overpriced - no hard standings, sloping and only hook up as an extra. £12 nightly, but I'd happily go again. Incidentally don't be put off by the trains that run nearby every 10 minutes. They are quiet, don't vibrate, and after the 3rd had passed we stopped even noticing. The horses are delightful, dogs very welcome and the atmosphere friendly. TV reception brilliant if you want it. We had a nice weekend.
