Down your Sway

The first thing to note is not to use the (2011 -2012) Directory's directions for access - a single track road said to be with passing places, but this is optimistic. The proprietress advised approach from the other direction (through Sway itself) which needs looking up first but is much easier. Secondly, the gate to the field will in fact stay open for entry if you turn it all the way back on itself. Leaving, you have to block the road before you can shut the gate (depends on the length of your outfit of course and it's not a busy lane). The site itself is new (in its second year) but adequate and I get the feeling it will develop into something rather special. At the moment I would say it's slightly overpriced - no hard standings, sloping and only hook up as an extra. £12 nightly, but I'd happily go again. Incidentally don't be put off by the trains that run nearby every 10 minutes. They are quiet, don't vibrate, and after the 3rd had passed we stopped even noticing. The horses are delightful, dogs very welcome and the atmosphere friendly. TV reception brilliant if you want it. We had a nice weekend.
