Campervan Visit June 2021

Since our last visit in Sept 2019, grass protection matting has been installed on the grass pitches - a great idea although thankfully the sun was shining for our visit. With EHU & water for each pitch, the surrounding countryside and peace and quiet, this is our ideal sort of CL. The friendly owners keep a watchful but not intrusive view over the site and have only enhanced it since our last visit. We look forward to returning.

A Peaceful Week on The Levels

We spent the May half term on this lovely CL. The owners, Karl, Liz and their lovely daughter Kiera, could not have been more helpful and always had time to stop for a chat or give advice on the area. We were very fortunate with the weather, a whole week of sunshine which gave us a chance to see Somerset at its best and to sit outside the motorhome well into the evenings. The surrounding area is pretty and quiet with a 25 minute walk through tranquil lanes to a very well stocked shop where we always managed to buy what we needed. ‘The Duck at Burtle’ is a very pleasant pub with good food, a short drive away. Pitches were roomy, each with its own EHU point and water tap. Grass was short and well kept with Karl often running the mower over when a guest had left. We enjoyed our week at Swallows View and would definitely return if we were ever in the area again. Thank you for a very enjoyable week Mark & Sandra Lewis

Perfect

Couldn't fault the site, location and hosts. Enjoyed 4 nights there pitches are well laid out with own tap and electricity. Sunny and sheltered from the wind. Cycling in the area is fantastic as is the walking. Good location plenty of interesting places to visit. Would definitely return. Thankyou for a nice stay.

Stopover

In September we were looking for a stopover on our way to Cornwall. We found the ‘Swallows’ by chance and it didn’t disappoint so we booked another two nights on the way back.Easy from the motorway to the village and then approx. one mile the other side. The ‘lane’ is narrow with bends so max. 10mph.On leaving the for last time towing we met another caravan, van, car and the local dust cart. The owners are lovely Liz & Karl Geoff and Shirley Visited 6-9 September and 22-23 September 2020 Would certainly stay there again.

Lovely CL

Swallows View is a quiet rural CL about 8 miles from Glastonbury. We stayed for 4 nights and have nothing but praise for it from the warm welcome from Liz and friendly advice on the local area from Carl. The grass is very firm but in the event of rain 4 of the well spaced pitches have hard standing mesh and the fifth has a gravel surface. Especially useful during the Covid 19 period is an individual tap on each pitch. Along with a supply of gel at the waste disposal area we felt very safe here. The local area is predominantly flat and the roads are mostly quiet so it’s good for walking and cycling. The nearby pub, the Duck at Burtle, is about a mile away and has plenty of outside tables if you wish to walk there with your dog. We didn’t use the grocery shop in the village but it looked adequate for most basic food stuffs. As someone that rarely leaves a review, I can’t recommend Swallow View enough, amazing value for £12pn. We will be back.

Relaxing stay

Stayed four nights with fellow retired cycling friends, (socially distanced). Cycling from site is easy and on quiet roads gives miles of exploring opportunity. Site is level, well spaced pitches with water and electricity to each. although grass pitches, there is plastic matting under the turf for good support. Karl and Liz looked after us all very well, - even brought round biscuits to apologise for using a compressor one day - it was not a problem anyway! We all had a wonderful relaxing time and will definitely return.

Great weekend in Edington

Lovely welcome, lovely site and lovely area. Fantastic communication with Karl in the week leading up to our stay due to road closures, but all had cleared by the Friday! The approach to the site is needs to be done very steadily and with respect as the bends through the village are at 90degrees but are easily doable. Fantastic pitches, we had the owners pitch a gravel hard standing with water and electricity on pitch. Brilliant supermarket/ hardware shop in the village. The levels are great for cycling with plenty of good coffee and cake venues! Can’t wait to have another stay!

Relaxing holiday stay

Really enjoyed our stay at Swallows View a perfect location for our birdwatching/cycling holiday. Hosts were friendly and very helpful giving us useful tips on cycling routes, cafes and local knowledge. Cycling is flat and quiet county roads with the added benefit of the old railway line a cycle route through the nature reserves. Also cycle route 3 a lovely ride to Glastonbury. Will definitely revisit.
