Lovely, friendly and peaceful

Everything about this site was wonderful. Karl was very helpful and welcoming and kindly let us stay and extra couple of hours on the Sunday🙂 The site was very clean and well kept and close to the places we wanted to visit (Cheddar, Glastonbury and Wedmore) Would definitely come again!🌝

Lovely quiet site

One word of warning; do not follow the satnav instruction but follow the instructions posted on the CAMC pages. Could save a lot of anguish. This is a lovely site with lovely owners. Nothing was too much trouble (thank you Carl for the fuse!). There are some poultry and dogs resident but these were no trouble whatsoever. We were made very welcome with our two spaniels. The Somerset Levels is not an area we know well but having spent three nights here en-route to Cornwall, will most definitely be back. Great site.

Excellent for safe cycling

We agree with previous reviewers who have said it all; this is a top notch CL. We booked on personal recommendation from friends and came for the extensive safe cycling on the Levels and were not disappointed. Thoroughly recommended.

Friendly, quiet and ideal location

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Swallows View helped by friendly, welcoming owners, Karl and Liz and, luckily, a spell of fine weather. A lovely well kept site, all facilities in easy reach, quiet (on a country lane) and direct access to the Somerset |Levels. The local shop in Edington village is very well stocked and there are several local pubs. Lots of cycling opportunities in the area along lanes with little traffic and there is a disused railway track for walking and cycling through the Avalon Marshes Nature Reserve heading towards Glastonbury. There is also a national cycle route nearby and Sweets Peat Museum on the B3151 North of Westhay has a cafe, popular with cyclists, and sells yummy bacon baps and cakes. Wilkins cider farm in Mudgley is well worth a visit and The Old Spot bakery in Mark has a wonderful selection of bread, cakes and lunchtime treats. Would definitely return to this site.

Quiet Site, great location

We were given a warm welcome to the site by Karl with suggestions of local bike rides and places to eat. The site was level with grass over plastic grids. Even after 3 days of very heavy rain we had no problems with getting our 3.7T van off the site when it was time to go home. There was also a substantial hedge to protect us from the prevailing wind. Because of this I would recommend it as a site year round. Each pitch had it's own water supply and there were good recycling facilities. The site had an information board with a map of the local area. There were some lovely bike rides and walks from the site to nearby nature reserves. It is possible to do an almost flat bike ride into Glastonbury which is a nice town to visit and, for those feeling energetic, a walk up the Tor provides great views. The food at The Duck, about 1.5 miles down a quiet lane, is very nice with generous portions. The bacon sandwiches at the Avalon Marshes Visitor Center are also nice. Be sure to check opening times for the historic buildings as they aren't open all the time. For a quiet break surrounded by nature I couldn't recommend this site highly enough.

So Peaceful and Quiet

Just returned home from 2 weeks + on this wonderful CL. Karl Elizabeth and Kiera so friendly and helpful. The site is surrounded by mature trees with an abundance of visiting birds and squirrels, although we didn't get see the elusive Woodpecker we heard him often enough. Each morning we were visited by 4 Robins around our caravan. My favourite bird. The Cl is kept absolutely immaculate. Each pitch has EHU and it's own water supply. It is well situated for visiting many places..Street and the Clarkes Shopping Outlet, Glastonbury, Burnham on Sea, Brean, Cheddar Gorge and many more. We have 4 dogs so managed to walk miles around the area following the public bridal through the fields. We only managed to get Sunday Lunch at 2 pubs The King William Inn and The Crown Inn both at Calcott. Both were delicious and very dog friendly. We will definitely be visiting again *****

Excellent Site

We stayed on this site mid August. Access to the site can be a little tight in places but it is well worth it. The site itself is extremely well kept and maintained by the owner, with hook-ups and individual water points. The owner and his family live on site and are welcoming and very friendly and a mine of useful information. We went to The Duck which was a country mile’s walk from the site (if you go in the evening take a torch for the return journey) it served good beer and food. For shopping the nearby Co Op is very well stocked and worth a visit rather than the big supermarkets. Thoroughly enjoyed this site and will return.

'Paradise in August'

We booked this site to for 2 nights to break our journey from Cornwall and were not dissappointed. We received a friendly welcome and the site is well kept with recycling bins.Having a tap on each pitch makes life a little easier!! it is very peaceful ,(having spent the previous 2 weeks in a very busy area) the beaches are not too far away, Clarks shopping centre at Street for a bargain and ASDA & ALDI are at Bridgewater also If in need of caravan accessories Highbridge caravan centre has a good stock of items.

Top CL site

first visit to this site. So So good that we have booked a return visit in September. If you visit don't follow the sat nav. the village lane is quite narrow on the approach but the locals are very good at pulling in to let you pass .site is very peaceful apart from the odd car in the lane. each pitch has its own water tap so its like being on a service pitch without the extra cost. The owners, Karl ,Liz and there daughter Keira are the perfect host, they go out of there way to be helpful and friendly. Nothing seems to be to much trouble for them and they always wave and say hello when they see you even if Karl is out on his bike !!. site is level with nice access and quite central to places to visit. We haven't tried the local pubs yet but are looking forward to it next visit.

Motorhome stay deep in pretty countryside

A pretty site with a warm welcome. The location is idyllic, with countryside lanes, pretty cottages and pubs within walking distance. A reasonable priced (£15.00 a night) site given it is without shower/toilet block. The electric wind water facilities all worked perfectly and easy access to dispose of grey water and chemical toilet. A great place for those keen to get out on bikes as the cycling is generally flat and roads not too busy. Karl helpfully pointed us towards the cycle track that runs through the wetland wildlife reserves all the way to Glastonbury. It took just over an hour at a moderate pace to reach the centre of Glastonbury. We even had enough energy to walk up Glastonbury Tor. On our second day we walked to Catcott within 20 mins and managed to dodge showers by visiting he bird hides. All very well maintained by the Wildlife Trust. Spotted Egrets, Warblers, Heron, Swans, Moor Hens and Gadwalls. Thank you Karl, Liz and Kiera for a lovely stay.
