We booked Swan Cottage as a last-minute escape for the Bank Holiday weekend, and we're very glad we did. The site is kept to an immaculate standard by the owners, who are also very relaxed and friendly. We received a warm welcome on arrival and a 'tour' of the site. The whole site is covered with lovely lush grass which was mown short just prior to our arrival, and had plenty of nooks and crannies for our two young children to explore and play hide-and-seek! Battery charging is available in an outhouse upon request, and there are separate drinking water and toilet cleaning taps. The only slight disadvantage is that the toilet cleaning tap is approximately 20 yards from the emptying point, but as long as you are an 'efficient swiller' this shouldn't entail too many trips to and fro! When we left the site the owners stood and chatted to us for a few minutes, and again we were struck by the friendly and relaxed way in which they run things. We will certainly be back - especially at £6 per night. If you are disturbed by a little road noise this might be something to bear in mind, but the tall hedges keep out the worst and we certainly weren't disturbed by it.
