Little Gem

What a little gem this is with easy access from A1,flat large hard standing pitches with electric & water to all pitches. Andrew the owner came and chatted a couple of times during our 8 days stay to make sure we were okay and enjoying our stay. All local attractions Bamburgh,Seahouses,Alnwick & Berwick on Tweed close by. Give this new site a try you won’t be disappointed Added bonus having a lovely Inn/Restaurant on door step (please note not part of CL) advise to book as it’s really popular. Will certainly use again when in area.

Good CL but has potential to be Great

Easy to find, flat hard standing, EHU and water tap on each pitch. Easy access to many attractions and a few local footpaths. Pub on the doorstep. Aspects that would improve the rating - provision of recycling bin (we took our recycling with us), easier access to waste water drain for camper and/motorhomes, adherence to the 5 ‘van regulation, perhaps an information point or board. Communication when booking was good but no reply to phone on day of arrival (acknowledged the owners could be busy etc) and no confirmation of receipt of payment. Relatively minor points maybe but have had much better value for money at many other CLs.

Convenient.

Very easy access from the A1 main road. Although we informed site owner of our arrival time we received no reply until well after arriving. We had no problem with this and picked our own pitch. Lovely, tidy and spacious site with the added bonus of being fully serviced. Some pitches had enough space to drive into which was handy. Slight 'hum' of traffic from close by busy main road but this did not spoil our visit. Handy having the pub immediately behind the site with it's own access gate. The pub is more of a restaurant than drinking establishment. We reserved a table (which is a must) for a rare treat. Unfortunately we left disappointed. Front of house/bar staff hostile but lovely table service staff although we felt rushed. Food was bland. Altogether a decent CL but maybe overpriced.

Super CL can recommend

Very happy to recommend this site. Electric, hard standing, quality water. Easy to find, close to A1 (without being affected by road noise) Great as an overnight stop off North -South journey Great as base to tour local area; Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Coastline Wooler / Cheviots. We left our caravan for a couple of days and drove into Edinburgh and stayed in apartment in centre for Fringe & TATTOO) worked well for us. Site is in excellent condition-flat, dry, suitable all year round. Pub at entrance (White Swan) is excellent- great food, atmosphere, decor , clientele, a great asset to this site. An excellent example of a small CL site.

Excellent CL

What an excellent site, water on tap, close to A 1 and the coastline. The owner Andrew was there to make sure everything was ok. Will be back. Thanks. Jim Shaw

Super CL

Great CL. Brand new for 2022. The pitches are large. We drew onto ours forwards and still had room to drive the car away forwards. Very large for a CL. Each pitch has its own water( real bonus). There is a dog walk clearly marked on a sign on the shed at the entrance. It goes around the perimeter of the farm and is easy to follow. There is a pub next door which is pleasant and welcoming. It does good food too. We have been to lots of farm sites and this one wins as it is nowhere near the main farm. So no farm noises and few flies. Andrew the owner is very helpful and really wants this site to be a success. We wish him all the luck in the world. It is a great site and he should be proud of it. The only slight downside is that the grass areas are still a little rough having only just been sown. This will get better and better. We will be back.

Lovely CL

Great site close to A1 but very quiet, good Outlook and good dog walking from site. Pub next door that does meals (supposedly very good but as we didn't eat there I can't comment) petrol station and greasy spoon about a mile away. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, we felt very welcome and we will be back.

Fantastic CL

This site was a lucky find. It is huge for 5 pitches, all very well spaced out. Each has hard standing, electric hook up AND water! There are facilities for waste, bin, and toilet disposal. We were met by a very helpful and pleasant owner who could not have been more helpful. It is new and the owner has clearly made a lot of effort to make it as good as possible. The site is located in beautiful farmland immediately behind a small Inn (White Swan) and there is a path through to the Inns car park. The owner advised us to book a table early if we wanted to eat there. We booked it twice as the food was simply stunning, a huge choice and not expensive. We will definitely go back to this site.

Lovely new CL

Many great things to say about this brand new CL. 1. Really well spaced out pitches...loads of room. 2. Behind The White Swan Inn...excellent pub/restaurant with fine food, but set well behind with no disturbance. 3. Lovely views out over fields to the sea. 4.Nice walks for the dog up through the estate. 5. Good position for access to Banburgh and Alnwick, also as an A1 stopover. Only negative was the noise from the A1. It is far enough away to not be too much of a problem, but there is no doubt there is a constant drone of traffic. If you are noise sensitive as we are then this is an issue. Am sure it will not put most people off, and wish the site well as much effort and expense has been put in.

June 2022

As an older novice at towing a caravan I chose this site because it was close to the A1 and had good access - both were true. The site is new and everything is very neat and the facilities were spotless. Dog walking was excellent, either directly from the site as explained by a map on the shed wall or on one of the several beaches, such as Bamburgh, being only a few miles away. The orchids in the dunes on Holy Island are well worth a visit as is Wooler Common where I watched two young red squirrels playing. Food in The Swan pub in Warenford is good and booking is essential This site would be an good choice for breaking the journey to and from Scotland. This site deserves to be busy!
