A lovely flat grass field with views over the surrounding countryside and out to sea. We were met on arrival by Andrew who is a friendly host. He spent time with us settling in and supplied us with an extra length of hose so that we could take advantage of the individual pitch drain and forget about grey water disposal. Each large pitch has individual water supply and the free wifi and 16A hookup is brilliant. The site is kept in immaculate condition and despite the lack of a shower block does not detract from the fact that this is a good value facility in todays terms. A 1 km ten minute walk takes you into the historic village of Coldingham with a good butchers and Spar and two good pubs. There are many good walks around the immediate are. We didn't touch the car for the whole week. Another 15 minutes walk take you down to Coldingham Sands. I've been around and I think that this is one of the best blue flag family beaches in the world. Easy coastal walks start from her along a spectacular coast line. Or stay put and enjoy the soft sand, beach cafe , toilets and lifeguarded water sports. I see the previous review about noise from grass cutting. You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. The grass is well maintained for sure but I would doubt that it is maintained as described. It certainly won't stop us returning in summer.
