Another great welcome

Another great stay at this fabulous CL with hosts Hazel and Gerald. From the initial phone call, the alternative comprehensive directions from Gerald due to a local road closure and the warmth of the welcome on arrival, nothing is too much trouble for these fabulous hosts. The site is great with easy access, excellent facilities, wonderful views, all that you could wish for a peaceful stay. Both are only too happy to help out when help is needed and are happy to recommend places of interest or local eating places. You cant go wrong staying at Terfyn Mawr, superb, 5 star! Looking forward to our next visit.

Top Tier

This review is long overdue, and should have been written after our first visit to Terfyn Mawr. We have now stayed at this lovely CL 3 times, over the course of the summer, and on each occasion we have extended our stay. The site is immaculate and a great deal of thought (and effort) has gone into its planning. Gerald and Hazel are amazing hosts and cannot do enough for guests. The CL is genuinely dog friendly and has a large (huge) dog exercise field. The pitches are generous and each one has its own picnic bench. A tranquil site with beautiful views and an abundance of Red Kites to watch. The nearby lanes are quiet enough to enjoy walking and cycling. On the doorstep are Newcastle Emlyn, Caws Cenarth Cheese and many other places of interest. We can highly recommend the Nags Head in Abercych, and also the Moonlight Indian takeaway in Newcastle Emlyn - very good indeed. We have met lovely people on every visit, and our dog (Sydnie) has made several fun doggy friends! Hoping to return again before the end of the year.

Outstanding!

With the car suffering from low power due to a fault as we approached Carmarthen I called Gerald, the CL owner, to check if there were any steep hills on route. Gerald immediately offered to come and meet us to tow our caravan to his CL. Once on site he set about finding a local garage so we could get the car sorted out. A trip down to Newcastle Emlyn to a very helpful workshop who refitted the loose engine intercooler hose; car sorted! This was beyond our expectations and we can’t thank Gerald enough. Gerald and Hazel have the best CL we have ever stayed on. The whole site is meticulously maintained, there’s water and electric on each pitch and currently a choice of three hard standing and two grass pitches, all large in size. The views are fantastic, the facilities spotless and you could not wish for more friendly hosts. You are greeted with a very warm welcome, and made to feel more of a friend rather than just a visitor. This CL provides a great base for exploring this region of Wales. St. Davids with its wonderful cathedral is just an hours drive and the highlight of our week, The Blue Lagoon at Abereiddi and Traeth Llyfn are must for stunning scenery along the Wales Coast Path. We highly recommend Ty Te, a lovely tea room at Cenarth for good food and friendly staff. We will definitely be back, can’t wait!

5 Star site

Immaculate site, with far reaching, amazing views by day and if clear skies, star gazing at night. Spacious, level pitches, with own water, EHU (if required) and picnic table. Grass & hard standing. Spotless toilet & shower room, the cleanest we have seen. Our booking was last minute, which was no problem for owners Gerald & Hazel and due to traffic we didn’t arrive until later than expected, after 10pm. We kept them up to date on our location and they were so accommodating and came out to greet us and settle us in when we got there. Brilliant. It is peaceful, but also a good location to explore local areas and coastline. Totally recommend and would definitely return if in that area.

Excellent site with lovely views

Terfyn Mawr is an outstanding site with lovely westerly views that include spectacular sunsets. The site is meticulously maintained and the toilet and shower room is to a very high standard. Possibly the best hot shower we've had on a campsite! Gerald and Hazel were friendly and helpful without being intrusive; a difficult balance which they got absolutely right. They were genuinely concerned that guests enjoyed their stay and provided us with additional information about local places to visit and also recommendations for the best routes to/from the campsite. The site is on high ground so can be a little windy, but this was never a problem and we would happily return.

Superb

I ask for nothing more this site has everything. The hosts are exceptional, the views, the pitches all perfect and the dog exercise field was an absolute bonus. The site is so quiet, and the sunsets views beautiful. Definitely worth a visit, we stayed for two weeks had a wonderful relaxing holiday.

Another great stay

Just arrived home from another weeks stay at the best site that we have stayed at. Could never get bored of staying here, such a great site immaculately kept with spotless facilities and great views. There is also an enclosed field directly adjacent to the site for dogs to be let off leads for a run, with a nice bench to sit and admire the views while your dogs having a run around. Gerald and Hazel are amazing hosts and you couldn't meet nicer people, they're caring, helpful, knowledgeable and always very welcoming. See you both again soon.

5 STAR CL !!

Just back from a lovely 8 day stay at Terfyn Mawr CL . We have stayed at some good CLs over the last few years but this one really is the one to beat now!!! Communication was excellent from first contact to last and on arrival we received a warm welcome from the owners Gerald and Hazel, who couldn't have been any friendlier or helpful during our stay, really can't do enough for you! The CL itself was immaculate with good hardstanding, fully serviced pitches and plenty of grass either side. It has far reaching views over towards the Pembrokeshire/Ceredigion coast, which is great for watching the sunset into the sea at Cardigan,. Stunning! There is also a very nice shower/toilet room which we used a fair bit despite being fully serviced, it was so nice! You'll find lots of local information and DVDS and books in here also. Another massive plus point for us was the very large, fully enclosed dog walk in field just behind the caravans, very handy! So all in all I really can't recommend Terfyn Mawr enough,at a very reasonable price of £20 a night, this for a CL of this standard in a prime holiday location, within easy driving of many towns and beaches is excellent value for money. Definitely one to return to!!!...

Idyllic location, fantastic views, really peaceful

This is our second time here, first time in a Camper Van last year, this our first time in the Caravan. Gerald and Hazel are the perfect hosts, and so welcoming, nothing is to much trouble at all. Even stored the electric bikes for us. The place is immaculate in every aspect and an ideal place to access West Wales. Certainly a fantastic place and would highly recommend. Thanks Gerald and Hazel keep up the good work.

Benchmark CL.

Booked well in advance and glad we did. What a wonderful CL, from the welcome and intro to the site and facilities from Gerald and Hazel to being very glad of their info on places of interest and local places to " wine & dine ". We've spent a week here at the moment and it's just that perfect place to unwind and " chill ". Superb facilities on this very well kept site owned by experienced campers who really do know whats required by us tourers nowadays. Would love to return.
