nice weekend

A very nice site to find, a bit out of the way but well worth it, approach road a bit tight but plenty of passing places, the pub is a one off and the beer is very good [real ale], nice walks along tow paths very peaceful , we will be back, its that nice.

Snatched weekend

A last-minute decision, but we had a great time. Genuinely quiet with lots of wildlife to hear and see; the pub is a true timewarp, and having the canal boats puttering past is fun! Little lanes good for that leisurely evening stroll or bike ride, and the nearby towns all have that old style feel. Not hardstandings, but firm ground and cut grass. (Though as we left, we towed smugly uphill past a group of six pushing and shoving their van on the level, while the driver spun his wheels and hoped. And we don't have 4-wheel drive!)  Access is down narrow lanes though.  But a delightful CL.

Spot on

Never been to this site before but will return, run by Olive and her daughter Elaine, the Anchor Inn is one of the quaintest pubs I've been in, I don't think it has hardly changed since it was built, and it's right next to the site.  Towpath is straight outside the pub garden, nobury wharf is about 45mins stroll where there is a cafe and another pub, we had a lovely day there looking round the narrow boats,

peace and quiet

Had a lovely stay here. Bit hairy approach but as long as you're cautious it's ok. Well kept and easy to get on the canal telepathy and very, very quiet.

A hidden gem

We have just returned from a great stay at this cl. The owner Olive and her daughter Elaine made us very welcome. A very well maintained site with 5 very large pitches on the cl and more piches on the rear of the site for none members. The inn itself is a little gem totally unspoilt by modern influence with a great atmosphere and we were well entertained by Mal and Dave to local boaters singing and playing gituars. We had a lovely walk along the towpath to Norbury junction approx 2.5 miles where we found a refreshments available at the pub and café. We are looking forward to many more enjoyable visits.
