The Scotsman in Yorkshire

This was some 'Flying' visit to this part of the world. We picked this site for our short stay in March. We were lucky to have tickets on the Flying Scotsman on its visit to the North York Moors Railway. The site is beautiful and belongs to a great pub. Perfect. I have to say that I have never visited this part of the world to 'holiday', so had a lot to do as a taster for a return sometime in the future. We were perfectly placed for walks off the site into Dalby Forest. The train journey across the moors was outstanding. We also got to the coast for Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and managed to look up travelling companions relatives in Bridlington. All of which was intermingled with fabulous drives over the moors on the back roads which offer a better experiance than the main routes. So yes, 5 stars for every catagory. A great and very active break at a lovely site.
