Excellent CL Site

This CL site is on the A137 Manningtree to Ipswich road and we really enjoyed our stay. The owners are welcoming but not intrusive. The site itself is immaculate with well spaced out pitches, some with hard standing. There’s a fenced off dog exercise area and another kind of meadow to sit in if you want to. An information shed with DVDs’, books and jigsaw puzzles - plants for sale too, Over the A137 right opposite the site is a pathway to Alton Water and all that has to offer. Out the back of the site there are country lanes to walk. It’s not that far to drive to Ipswich, Felixstowe, Bury St Edmunds and some very good National Trust, along with Historical Houses properties are within the hour’s drive too. We’d definitely have no hesitation to stay here again when in the area.

Excellent site, well kept and warm welcome

Very warm welcome from the site owners friends as they were away. The site has 3 hard standing and 2 grass pitches, nicely spaced apart. The grass is well kept as is the the nature area behind. Fenced off area for dog walking, not that we have a dog. Water point, bins and chem point spotless and well maintained. Easy access off the road, but it is in a slight bend. Local supermarkets about 10 minutes away. Despite the weather a relaxing holiday. Would return again.

First Class

Having completed our second visit to the Garden House CL there is very little to report that has not been said in other Reviews. Investment had been made upgrading the site with the addition of three hard standings. Having used CAMC and CL sites since 1987 we have not seen one that is so well maintained. Martin and Mandy work constantly to maintain the high standard of the site and their approach to the guests is of a level never seen before. They are always willing to stop and have a chat. During this visit we walked the footpaths adjacent to the site and enjoyed the different views of the area.

Immaculate

We have just returned from 3 nights at Garden House in order to check out our motorhome for its first trip this year. The site is immaculate with well mown grass, flat spacious pitches with easy access, secure fencing and the bonus of a paddock where dogs can run freely. There is also a meadow at the back which will look delightful in the summer, as will the many plants around the site. The bin area is clean and tidy and the information hut was just that, full of leaflets plus you could hire or buy a book or DVD. Plants were also for sale and donations go to charity. We walked some of Alton Water but thought the walk to the visitor centre/pub would be too far for our ageing dog. It would be beneficial to have transport to visit the many areas of interest nearby. There is some road noise due to works on the A12 which was made clear in the email to us from the owners. As it was a chilly few days we were mostly inside, apart from the walks and when the sun shone warmly one day, so the noise did not bother us. Mandy and Martin are very pleasant hosts and they should be proud of what they have achieved with this site. We are sure nothing would be too much trouble for them to make sure you have an enjoyable stay.

Fabulous CL with welcoming hosts

What a brilliant CL site this is.Martin and Mandy were on hand to give us a very warm welcome. The site has been very well organised, the field is flat and pitches are well spaced out.Everything is immaculately maintained, there is an information hut with ideas and leaflets for local attractions etc..Mandy has plants for sale and also Jam.There is direct access from the site to public footpaths with lovely walks around the area.We stayed for one week, and we will definitely return as there is so much more in the area we wish to do.There is some road noise and the distant sound of the railway, however it did not bother us at all. There is a separate area for dogs, and also an area left for wildlife to wander. A well deserved CL Newcomer of The Year Award for 2022 - Keep up the Good Work.

Fantastic site and hosts

Fantastic, well spaced out pitches, well maintained gardens and level, trimmed grass. Facilities on site are all in the same layout as CAMC club sites, with bin store and water point etc. Really lovely hosts, very friendly. Great accessible walks from the site towards Tattingstone and Alton Water. We will definately be back again soon. I think we will see this site within the CL of the year awards very soon, it would certainly get my vote.

Lovely CL

A large flat field with short grass and pitches well spaced out, plus a useful information shed too. A wild life area to wander about in, plus a fenced area for dogs to run about. There's a footpath straight from the site and a nice walk to Alton Waters. This is a very clean and tidy site with very friendly and welcoming owners. We will return, but stay for longer next time.

Beautiful well kept site. Perfect hosts

Well what can I say about this site. It was fabulous, very well kept and pretty, I loved the twinkling lights that lit up the gates, information shed, bin area etc. Mandy and Martin were so very friendly and welcoming. Mandy kept us well informed re road works and was very helpful and replied to all emails quickly before our arrival. Unfortunately we were at a concert all day on the Saturday and arrived fairly late on the Friday so wasn’t on site much but Sunday we got to enjoy the site and see it’s beauty. There’s a fenced off area for you to let your dogs off and they even supply some toys, I loved this about the site and so want to come back and bring our dogs, obviously due to the concert this time we couldn’t. This site also hosts another lovely area where you can walk and has benches and foot rests to just sit and enjoy life. There is an information shed which not only tells you of places to visit and eat, but books, puzzles, games and dvds that you can borrow to use during your stay. Only a short stay this weekend but we will most definitely be back and we will be recommending this site to all our CMHC friends. Until next time. Alison and Paul Murray
