WOW WHAT A FIND

This is the best CL we have been to its immaculately kept there is a lovely wildlife/dog walk plus a secure dog area where they can have a run with a few dog toys in it. A little hut full of information for the local area plus dvds jigsaws books spent ages in there. Some plants for sale outside the hut as well. Loads of walks in the area Alton Water walkable distance for paddle boarding etc. Owners very friendly and accommodating choose where you pitch and which way round. Price an amazing £16 a night which im sure will have to go up with electric prices so high and so it should. Only downside it was so hot we couldn't do much but what better place to not do much we loved it just over half hour from home this is going to be a regular for us.

CL Perfection

Stayed here for 12 nights as a starting point for a seven-week trip having just retired. Well what can we say about this wonderful CL and its owners Mandy and Martin. The site has been designed by caravanner’s who have used their experience and knowledge to create a perfect environment to ensure you have a wonderful stay. When we arrived and went through the gates the first thing we said to each other was ‘Wow’. The site is immaculate with good sized, well-spaced pitches arranged on two sides of a very spacious ¾ acre paddock, with a beautiful flowerbed on one side. The service area i.e. fresh water, grey water, chemical toilet disposal and recycling is well designed and cleaned on a daily basis. For dog owners there is a fenced off exercise area where the dogs can run free. There is also an additional area equally as big as the site that has been left wild with a mown pathway with seats where anyone can wander. An information hut is provided with leaflets on the area plus second-hand books and homemade jams to buy for a small donation to charity. There are also Mandy’s home-grown plants to purchase. We found Mandy and Martin to be the perfect hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home, so much so we can’t wait to visit again and are planning a longer stay next year. As others have stated this CL must be a contender for CL of the Year and we have already submitted our vote. In our opinion if the Garden House does not win there must be something seriously wrong with the process.

Wow Wow

What an amazing and friendly site, from our arrival to our departure you were treated as if it was your own garden. The site has been extremely well thought about prior to building. The owners keep the site in an immaculate condition, tending to plants and site to a very high standard. Like the rest of the reviews I agree with "should be site of the year". A must visit for anyone wanting a lovely peaceful break. We loved the enclosed dog field allowing our dogs to run freely without having to worry. Mandy & Martin were great hosts,

Candidate For CL Of The Year

we booked Garden House CL in January 2022 seeing it was a new cl in the Caravan and Motorhome magazine and it looked just wonderful, we were not disappointed, on arrival nice wide entrance to the double gates leading to the cl, Mandy came out to greet us and show us the facilities and showed us the pitches, The grass was recently cut and the loose cuttings taken away, The recycle bins and the doggy bin were emptied every day, There is an enclosed area for your pet to exercise in or for a different walk there is a large paddock you can use which has been cut in different ways to give a wild nature walk my two dogs loved it, We loved this place so much we were lucky to be able to stay another week, Mandy and Martin are incredible hosts they make you feel so welcome we are going to recommend Garden House for CL of the year WILL WE BE BACK YOU BET WE WILL, thankyou Mandy and Martin for a wonderful holiday and Roscoe and Murphy say thankyou for your daily cuddles YORKSHIRE DAVE👍

What a lovely CL

Wow A canditate for CL of the year !!! a beautiful Cl which has only recently opened and has been designed by caravanners for caravanners. It is in a large paddock behind Megan and Martin's house and the grass is kept short. There is an area where the water point and waste can be disposed of and a building with plenty of information and books and DVDs for sale in aid of charity. An added bonus for dog owners is an area which is completely fenced where your dog can run free. Even soft toys are supplied. Their dog Bonny will give you a good welcomel. We were lucky to be there for the Jubilee Holiday anf they laid on a tea and Megan made wonderful cake, sandwiches and scones. Many thanks. Once again may we recommend this site and wish Megan and Martin all the besr in the future. Maybe see you some time again.

Just Perfect

We stayed at the Garden House on the May Bank Holiday weekend. The site it set at the back of a beautiful house with a stunning garden. The pitches are flat and level with plenty of space, everything is so well kept, the owners have spent a lot of time developing the area, I can't fault it. Close by is Alton water and you can access the circular foot path from the campsite, its a long walk around the outside but we'll worth it. The owners are very happy to advise on other local walks, and we were directed to a nearby woodland walk packed full of blue bells, it was stunning. We are new to Caravaning and have so far visited 10 CL sites, and this is the best so far, I can't fault it, and would highly recommend a visit

Wonderful Site.

This site is superb and is probably the best one we have been on. It was easy to find and the welcome was very warm. It is flat and well manicured with plenty of room between plots. There is a good sized secure area for dog walking, a poo bin being provided, and a separate area of approx 1/2 acre, which is in development, where new trees are growing and areas are left wilder around wild flowers. It isn't secure but is a wonderful area to just wander around with your dogs. The weather wasn't the best whilst we were there. We had 2 days of strong winds which caused worries regarding the awning. The soil there is very soft and sandy so pegs go in easily, but also, under strong winds, they can pull out just as easily. Martin was very concerned for us and offered every help, as did another guest who had a set of storm straps and lent them to us. Lesson was learned and a set has now been purchased. I won't leave home without them again. This is a truly wonderful site. It is new, so is clean and fresh, and there is every indication that Martin and Mandy will keep it so. There is a shed on site, full of booklets etc providing so much local information, to back up the local knowledge from Martin and Mandy. Alton Water is a 10min walk away and it is well worth the effort to walk around. Flatford Mill and Dedham are a short drive away. We didn't do half the things we wanted to do, so we will be back. The one down side, if you really want to be picky, is that there is a railway line approx 1/4 mile away. There is some rail traffic noise, but if that bothers you, all I would say is "get a life". Immaculate, very welcoming, definately one of the best

Just had a long Easter break here, and were amazed at how tidy it all was. Grass cut, wonderful flower beds. The information hut had everything you could possibly ask for, including home made jams! Outside there was also a display of plants for sale that were wonderful value. Dog walk was amazing although we couldn't take advantage as our dog was too old to enjoy it. All facilities carefully thought out by club member and kept immaculate. Local interest by the shed load, lakes, rivers, pubs, and more. First time we had been welcomed so nicely and as it was Easter we got some fabulous cup cakes too! Could never ask for more. No overhanging trees so always sunny will definitely return when we can, tidiest and friendliest one we have been to. Also easy to find. Thanks so much to Mandy and Martin for making us so welcome.
