Beautiful little site

Have just come back from 3 nights on this gorgeous little site can't wait to go back again . The weather wasn't great but we still enjoyed it . Took our 4 year old grandson and just few 100 metres walk from the site is a super children's playground also an adult's workout . So handy for Penrith and Lowther castle which is a must ! Easy access with our motorhome but no hardstanding . Toilet and shower acceptable could just do with a bit of TLC . If you want peace and quiet this site is for you .

Great Stopping Off Place

Stayed 23/24/25 July 2017. Small site 5 miles off the M6 set behind a row of houses in Cliburn. Bit of noise from the village playground but surrounded by fields. The owner greeted us on arrival but we never saw her again. Her brother lives on site and is very approachable so we dealt with him. Not much else to say really. Its small £12.00 a night, toilet and shower (free). Bit of a hike for waste water disposal and toilet but nothing too bad. Couple of good pubs locally, well 4 miles away, few decent walks as well for emptying the dog.

Absolutely fine for the price

Unfortunately, Mary who I had spoken to when booking, and has been mentioned in some previous reviews, had suddenly died a couple of days before our arrival. As you can imagine, things were a bit hectic for the two brothers and their wives, dealing with the site AND the funeral arrangements. They coped admirably and couldnt have been more obliging, and specifically asked us to treat things as normal `to help them through`, which we did. We had a lovely 7 night stay. Peace and quiet, nice toilet and shower (though I prefer a closed shower rather than a shower room - things get wet in a shower room). Very easy-going site and a pleasure to come back to having visited lots of places including the lakes. Great for a tenner a night. I wish them all the best in their bereavement as Mary was obviously a very popular old lady.

Perfect CL

Small but perfectly formed. Shower and toilet are clean and included in the £10/night. Nice views, quiet, lawned, easy access to Penrith (15 mins) and the lakes and fells. Good phone signal for Three and TV also good. Recommended.

Will return.

Stayed for three nights. Lovely little green field site with mown grass. field views from the window. Very good free shower as well as a toilet and the other usual facilities. All for a tenner a night all year round! Visited Brougham castle, Brougham hall, Larch Cottage Nurseries, cinema and a nice meal at Penrith all within a few miles. Lovely welcome from Mary. We will definitely return

A welcome little haven!

After a long journey, we unexpectedly needed an overnight stay at the last minute, anything would do. Luckily we had the CC handbook and The Grange Court was nearby. Mary gave us a friendly welcome and we set up camp. Our fellow campers were obviously loyal regulars and we could understand why -  clean toilet and shower, hens clucking around & a quiet location surrounded on 3 sides by fields - for £10 a night. We will definitely stay again, for longer next time, it's so convenient for the many attractions in the area.

Great little site for £10 a night

Great access from A6, only a small sign on the gate. Good electric shower which is free, nothing fancy but did the job. There is a fab children's play ground only 2mins walk from the site. Hens running round, beautiful views of open country side. Very peaceful but only 5miles from the M6 / A66 so easy access to north lakes, Scotland and North East. We will be going back.
