Lovely site below Maiden Castle

Well managed site in rural setting but with good access to buses for Dorchester and Weymouth. Excellent facilities and easy access. Have stayed here many times and have always been welcomed.

Great welcome, fantastic facilities!

Booked for same day arrival on a bank holiday weekend due to a water leak at the site we had originally booked. Judy was very welcoming and helpful especially given the torrential rain on arrival. The site itself was very well maintained and had the most amazing toilets and showers. Toilets were roomy and very clean. The shower was the best of any CL and better than most club sites we have visited with loads of hot water and good disabled access. Maiden Castle a short walk away is very impressive as is Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester. We had a great long weekend, thanks Judy!

Small quiet site with easy access

Stayed here over the Easter weekend with friends and the site is lovely just what we needed. There is one shower room with toilet and sink and a separate toilet. We stayed on the grass and had no issues. Within easy reach of Swanage and Weymouth and Portland. There is plenty of local info in the info hut. We will definitely visit again.

Great spot for visiting family

We chose this site as it is close to visit family. Judy was very welcoming and due to the recent wet weather we were on the hardstanding but we were still able to put our awning up. The WiFi wasn't available the first day but that was fixed the following morning The site is clean and well kept, the toilet and shower room were a bonus and a big plus for the great shower. It is close to the main road and there was some traffic noise but it didn't keep us awake. Considering this the setting is very rural. As others have said, very close to bus routes and the main road to Dorchester and Weymouth with Tesco a 20 min walk away. We will be back when staying with family is not an option.

Easter stay 23

We picked this site because it was small and had space for those that were staying. We had plenty of room. We were parked on the grass but it hard-core onto so if was not messy and was stable. There is one separate toilet, although in the same block. Then a large single room with a good shower sink and toilet. For a small site I think that is quite OK. Also whenever I went to it,it had been cleaned. Lovely short walk to Maiden Castle. Easy cycling,to many places. Bus stop outside, short walk. We would come back here again. We did not have any noise from the farm, however we were there over Easter.

Fantastic little site

A lovely site in a great location. We stayed for one night and loved the showers they were lovely, hot and clean. The hut is full of information and a great idea. Close to Dorchester and another local town so we popped there for fish and chips - parking in our large motorhome was easy! Hosts were really friendly and kept in touch before we arrived. Will definitely stay again.

Great Stay, despite the challenges!

I was welcomed by Judy upon my arrival and I was able to collect the eco friendly organic toilet fluid. The site is quiet and peaceful, although there is some road noise from the main road. The shower is hot with a good shower head clean which then provides a good flow. Bus stop is close by for buses into Weymouth and Dorchester, although Dorchester is less than 2 miles away. It isn't until there is a problem and how it is resolved that gives the true measure of any organisation. Having hitched up and about to leave the car broke down, alternator failure, rendering me totally immobile. The RAC arrived but were both unable to fix it and to recovery it there and then for repair. I spoke to Judy and there was no issue about staying for another night before being towed home the following day. Convenient for everywhere that I wanted to go, would be happy to stay again with the family.

Another lovely visit.

We have just returned from another lovely stay at The Manor House CL site. We are never disappointed when we visit. The site is peaceful, clean and has a great atmosphere. Dorchester is five minutes away and there are interesting places to visit in and around this charming town. We relax as soon as we arrive and look forward to our next trip.

Location location

A lovely CL located just of a main road giving easy access yet not too much noise. Short walk to good bus service to both Dorchester & Weymouth and easy walking to the top of maiden castle giving great views over the surrounding countryside. Just of an old working farm yard yet peaceful and interesting offering all the usual facilities including disabled toilets and showers. We received a very warm and helpful greeting from the owners who couldn’t have been more helpful, and don’t miss the short walk to view the lovely peaceful old church.
