An excellent spacious site

Stayed on this site for 7 nights at the end of September and I must admit to being a bit wary of picking somewhere that only has grass pitches but I shouldn't have been. These pitches are some of the most spacious we have stayed on. 6 to choose from with 6' hedges breaking up the grassed area. The grass was cut short and cuttings picked up. During our stay we mostly had good weather but we did have 2 torrential bouts of rain and the ground didn't seem troubled by it at all. The ground slopes slightly but there is so much space to pitch on that you should be able to find something flat. They aren't allocated. Amperage is 16 amps, grey water into the hedge and Elsan point in a corner near fresh water pipe and near the bins. One general black bin and one for all recycling. The farm house is opposite next to Whey Curd Farm CL, same family. We didn't see the owners but put the cheque through their door. The only real gripe about the C.L. is accessibility. It is fine up until Fakenham then the B1105 takes over to Wells. An undulating road that you will have to treat carefully. The instructions from the owners then have you take a minor road for 2 miles, when about 2 miles from Wells itself. This is a single track road with very small and few passing places. Cross your fingers or ignore it and continue to Wells then onto Wighton by a better road. The actual entrance to the CL is wide and well signed if you follow the instructions. All was peaceful on the CL, hardly any traffic to speak of, sometimes the only noise at night came from the Tawny Owls. There are some cute Swiss Vallais Blacknose sheep kept by someone by the site which are very photogenic. Access to Wells is easy and one can use the back roads or the main coast road to access places like Binham Priory, Walsingham, Blakeney, Cley, Brancaster, Titchwell etc. Food shopping is a bit awkward but we found Leftleys in Wells and the Co-Op to have most things for a short stay. If you head to Sandringham then call in at Tesco or Sainsbury's on the outskirts of Kings Lynn or use Morrisons at Fakenham. There is a caravan accessory shop near the Co-Op. If we wanted a CL in the Wells area again we would have no hesitation in using this site.
