Fabulous location for The Yorkshire Three Peaks area.

This was a last minute few days away but somewhere I wanted to be this year for walking. I wasn't expecting to be able to get booked up for 5 nights but we struck it lucky. Booking up is quite formalised compared to other CL's I have used but I can understand the need for the extra detail required from Robert and Jane once the access difficulties are explained if you have a large outfit. 7.20 metre caravan length is max permitted. ( We just made it at 7.19 ) On check in Robert assisted us to back up the van to reposition for the tight left hand turn and watched us in. Once on site Robert showed us where the facilities were etc. Other than speak to Jane on the phone I never actually met her as I was out walking when she socialised on site with CL guests .My wife informed me she was a very friendly lady and very helpful. As was Robert. Each day there was also some home grown salad/ veg left near the drinking water tap for guests to help themselves. Facilities were excellent and kept clean. The main views from the CL was the splendid Pen Y Ghent ( One of the Three Yorkshire Peaks Challenge ). All pitches get the sun for part of the day ( in fact most of the day) We were on Pitch five along side some conifers. A little disappointed at first we would not get the late sun but soon found that if we sat around to the front of the caravan under the trees we got the evening sun. There are two pubs and a shop a short walk with via footpath accessible from the road through a stile in the wall. ( The shop we never saw open but looked to be stocked up, we wondered if it only opened at weekends and holidays) Horton Rail Station is also a short walk and the rail line passes maybe 200 yards west of the CL. Only drawback of that is a 7am toot as a train approaches the station. We were very fortunate to see The Flying Scotsman on a journey from York to Carlisle. ( and return ) Settle is around three/four miles away where you can stock up at a supermarket and countless other facilities. This CL is a little gem in the middle of the Three Peaks area.
