Access to site

Having left reviews of this site before thought I would post an update. Site is still a great place to stay but the owners have had the access road to the site fully tarmacced making it much easier and smoother to get onto the field. No more ruts or puddles to negotiate! Thumbs up for this great improvement.

The Peacocks have gone

Just returned from a return visit to this site after a couple of years. We were disapointed to find that the Peacocks have gone. They now no longer provide entertainment, watching the Peacock strutting and displaying to be ignored by the Peahen. As before the site was well presented and we had a warm welcome from Mrs Booth. It has everything that we need from a CL and is our number one choice for a CL on Anglesey.

Brilliant CL site

Firstly, ignore any previous negative reviews you may have read about this CL site - it is without doubt a brilliant site. The site is large , open, dog and child friendly. The field is well drained and the pitches are very well spaced so that you are not on top of each other. Access is via a short narrow lane but this isn't an issue if you stick to the arrival/departure times. There are electric hookups and numerous water points well spaced around the site. We've used this site for 4 years now and keep coming back because it is a quiet and relaxing site, our dogs are welcome, and the children and now grand children have plenty of space to play without encroaching on other peoples pitches. In all the years we've been coming we've never had any issues with the resident dogs or birds. The owners are always very welcoming and friendly. Try it and you'll be hooked, just like we are! Anglesey is a great place to explore and this is an ideal base and is also only 20 minutes from the mainland so is also ideal for exploring Snowdonia as well.

Nice site, but.......

This site is approx 0.50 miles from the main road. It has 3 water taps & 3 double socket EHU bollards around the site with waste bins and a chemical toilet empty with a water tap for rinsing. There are 6 pitches which have EHU and an extra 3 pitches that have no hook up facilities along the hedge adjacent to the entrance. As the site approach road is narrow in places and has no passing places, some care is required. This site is approx 1.0 acre, all grass/lawn pitches (some small levelling blocks were needed though) they are well spaced out, each pitch has EHU point. Waste bins are located just off the field as is the chemical empty point. The site does not have any dog exercising facilities but a public footpath runs through the site so this could be used as well as the lanes. The site is adjacent to a road, which is the sole use for the farm and the farm further down the road, but this did not cause us any concerns. The owner who was very nice, and told us we could site on any of the vacant pitches met us, on arrival. The pitch we first chose had full sun all day. Unfortunately, due to the constant barking of about 7 dogs from the moment we arrived we decided to move further down the field, well away from them. We could still hear them barking, but the distance muffled the noise, this continued until about 7pm, but did not last long and continued through the night. It is a pity the owners are not more thoughtful towards their paying visitors. Peacocks/hens roam freely on site and are not bothered where they walk, on top of cars (ours in particular) or the trees around the field. It was entertaining though to watch 7 of them gather around the tree between pitches 3 & 4 (so beware if you pitch on 3 or 4) ready to fly into it for their nights rest, this was about 7.30pm each night. One did miscalculate her departure from the tree one morning as she hit our caravan roof and awning, fortunately I did not see any damage. It is a pity, but we will not be returning and would certainly not recommend this site for the sole reason of the dogs.

Another great CL discovery

We have just returned from a 9 night stay on this CL - our first visit to this particular site although we have been staying on Anglesey since the 1970's! What a lovely CL - lovely open field, nicely mown without any loose bits of grass and pretty much level. We had some heavy rain later on in the day we arrived and also throughout that night and, although the ground became temporarily waterlogged, it drained very well once the rain had stopped. We were given a warm welcome by Mr. and Mrs. Booth, had a drinking water tap nice and handy and were shown the location of the toilet emptying point which was nice and discreet. We had a marvellous holiday - the unexpected peacocks on the site were an added attraction - and would not hesitate to visit again. Our thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Booth.

Understated

This CL is a gem. Flat, large, spacious field with the electrical and water points well spread out. Well maintained short cut grass. Very quiet and peaceful away from the main road. Mr and Mrs Booth very welcoming and helpful. Our dogs were able to play run and catch without annoying the rest of the site The site is within easy walking distance to the pub at Brynsiencyn and also situated on the published circular walk which takes you to the Sea Zoo,Foal Farm and Halen Mons. The other gem (5 minutes by car) is Hootens Farm Shop their Welsh Black beef is not to be missed.

Another most enjoyable holiday

What a friendly welcome we received when we arrived at the site, a site which immediately looked spacious and well presented. We were joined for eight of our nine nights stay by our daughter and family. The space on site allowed our two grandchildren to play without any proximity to the other units. Trimmed lawn space, protected hedges and well kept bin areas all added to relaxed ambience. With a footpath adjacent which, if travelled for only 40 yards, afforded a fabulous panoramic view of Menai Strait and Snowdon mountain range. So pleased with the site we will visit again.

Great little CL site

Booked this CL at short notice for the Mayday bank holiday weekend. We were a bit apprehensive at first as we'd never used a CL site before, but we needn't have worried. The site's owners were very friendly and welcoming. The site is accessed from a very narrow farm track but is well signposted off the main road. The site itself is very spacious with water, waste and 16amp hook up facilities. We used it as a base to visit various parts of the island, the nearest beaches being at Newborough about 10 minutes drive away. The site is dog friendly with various walks off site; there is a well signposted public footpath that skirts the edge of the site. The pitches are well spread out which meant the children could play without annoying other people. Would recommend this little gem of a site and we will be definitely visiting again.

Fantastis site

What a great site!! We wanted a field with water. This was exactly that but a lot more. Almost flat, extremely well maintained, clean, spacious grass field. The owners made us extemely welcome. After being let down at a previous site that we had booked, we contacted the owners, who invited us to call and look and decide then. All I can really say is that after planning 4 days at this location, we ended up staying around 14 days. Good for children (as other families were also on site). Facilities were more than suitable. LocalPlacesOfInterest - although on the South East of the island, we were able to travel by car to all the areas that we wanted to visit without a lengthy journey. Thankyou to the owners for making our holiday one to remember. P.S. The weather was actually very nice whilst we were there - honest!!!
