Highly Recommended CL

What an excellent site. We were so lucky to find this hidden gem, and couldn't have wished for a better CL site to be on. A warm welcome from the owner Helen, who was very informative about the local area. A spotlessly clean site, and very well thought out, with water and EHU on each pitch, and a separate under cover area for all your waste and recycling. If you want to visit the Falkirk Wheel and/or the Kelpies, then this site is for you. The site also sits next to the Forth and Clyde Canal, with an excellent tarmac towpath if you want to walk or cycle to the Falkirk Wheel (3.5 miles) and an extra (4 miles) to the Kelpies. We wouldn’t hesitate to return again when we are back in this part of Scotland. Thank you Helen and Sandy.

Superb Site

As others have said an excellent site immaculately kept with lovely views over open countryside. The welcome from Helen is second to non and nothing is too much trouble. There are good walks along the path alongside the canal which runs just behind the site. Pitch 3 has a huge grass area ajoining it ideal for children or dogs. Our caravan is 7.5 metres and it was tight getting over the bridge on the lane leading down to the Cl and the access through the gates is another tight turn. Certainly not a site for anything bigger than us. That said we have had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend it.

Perfect stopover

A lovely new CL with first class facilities, water and electric at each pitch. Booking is very easy done online, on arrival a warm welcome from Helen. Information for the surrounding areas can be found in the information shed and recommendations from Helen. Location was ideal for cycling along the canal towpath, with access from just behind the site. We went to the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies (14 mile round trip), well worth it! The Cotton House Thai is a must, they will deliver to the site. Access would be tight for larger outfits, no problem for our 6.6m motorhome. We would definitely use this site again, visited October 2021

Superb CL

Wonderful CL with level, hard standing pitches, each with water and electric. Quiet and peaceful with no through traffic. Very secure and private with entrance along a single track road. Sited alongside the Forth and Clyde canal it is perfect for walking of cycling along its banks. Restaurant at the end of the road is excellent and as a result booking is advised. The owners of the site, Sandy and Helen, do everything possible to make your stay memorable and are excellent hosts. The site is immaculate and well kept and we would highly recommend it for a holiday or for a stopover whilst travelling North or South. We will certainly be back again. John and Diane Watson

Best site we have been to.

Fantastic CL site, immaculately kept with water & electric on each pitch. Grey & Chemical waste disposal & recycling bins in a clean, well kept sheltered area. Beautiful views across the fields from pitches and lovely walks along the Forth & Clyde canal. A vey peaceful site with the most welcoming hosts Helen and Sandy who make you feel like old friends you have known for years. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasant stay without being intrusive. We will be back, highly recommend visiting this gem of a CL.

One of the best

This was our 25th CL pitch this year and so far the best overall. For location it would be hard to beat, with lovely cycle/walk, fishing, paddle board along the canal on your doorstep and cycle/walk to the kelpies and the Falkirk wheel. Bus stop 10 min walk away. Felt more relaxed here than most, with a warm welcome from Helen & Sandy handing out a useful information sheet on arrival and we also liked the security of a gated entrance. Have to recommend the Chinese restaurant (Cotton house) at the end of the lane which was superb. Highly recommended July 2021

Last Minute Find

Just left a great last minute find: Underwood Caravan Park, Bonnybridge. It's only just opened (April 2021), and is right next to the Forth and Clyde Canal. Close to the motorway, an ideal stopover or perfect to visit the Falkirk Wheel and/or the Kelpies, the towpath will take you right there, if you cycle (or walk)! We booked and paid online, it was so easy. Sandy and Helen were great hosts (and in their absence, their son was there to greet us). We will definitely be back. www.threegotravelling.com

Canal side campsite.

We stayed 4 nights as this wonderful, quiet campsite. We will be back in the future. All flat, hard standing pitches with good space round them. Quiet, peaceful site. Each pitch has it's own tap and electric point. Helen very welcoming and friendly. Able to provide us with all the local information we needed for our stay. Fabulous canal side site. The path on the canal wide and smooth, perfect for walking or cycling. 3.2 miles to Falkirk wheel and 7.3 miles to the Kelpies. Both well worth visiting. Also a wonderful Thai restaurant at the end of the sites access road. It is popular with the locals so I suggest you book if you are planning a visit, especially at the weekend (but it also does do take out)

Fantastic Site

What a great CL with great hosts. Had a 2 night stopover 9/10 July and a 2 night stopover 29/30July, not enough time but will be back for a longer stay. Ideal pitches which you are allocated before your arrival and once you have been makes it so much easier for next time.
