Enjoyed our stay

Just returned from 2 nights in Sizewell. The location was chosen as it's only 15 minutes from Minsmere RSPB reserve. The site is quite a small area located next to the pub on a raised area of land. It's basic and a bit uneven, but suited our requirements well. There was a little traffic noise at times when shift changes happen at the power station, as it is located exactly opposite the access road to the nuclear plant, but it didn't really cause us any problems. The pub is a decent old-fashioned place, with good beer. We ate in the pub on both nights of our stay, with the Friday night menu being standard pub fare (my wife loved the ham, egg and chips) and there was live music from about 9pm. The Saturday night carvery, however, was simply excellent. Only two meats available (pork and beef) but both were perfectly cooked and plentiful, with a good selection of veg. Staff were friendly, and I think reviews stating the landlord is rude or grumpy are unfair. He's a character with a very dry sense of humour. Just make sure to pay your site fees in the bar when the pub is open and you'll have no problem. We will happily return to this CL!
