Really nice site

Sept 1922 stayed for nine nights at this fantastic CL. Views from the site are really good a few wind turbines in the distance but does not spoil the outlook. On arrival we made our way to the field as it was well signed and everything was obvious where to go and a useful little map of where everything is situated could be found in a holder on the gate post, good little touch. Met the owners the next day to pay for our stay. Anglia was very pleasant and friendly and could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. The area has some fantastic local walks from the site and more within a short drive. The local village has a shop and two pubs. We had a meal in the Pytchley Hotel which was excellent and not over priced. All in all we would return to this CL if we are back in the area with out a doubt. Well done owners for keeping this site clean, tidy and well mentained in every area of the whole property.

Beautiful site

We stayed on this site over Easter and couln't have wished for better weather. We did some lovely walks from the site up to Honey Hill and along the Grand Union Canal. The views are stunning, you can see Winwick Hall from the site where they do champagne afternoon teas in the Pavilion Tea Room at weekends, but unfortunately didn't start until the following weekend. Angela is lovely and very helpful, providing a map of the area. The site is small and my only concern was that there were 4 units on site and when a 5th one turned up it was a bit tight for them to fit in. This was just due to how all the others had pitched but this could soon be remedied if each pitch was numbered. Having said that we would certainly return as it was one of the best sites we had stayed on.

What a view

We chose this site as it was en-route home from an event in Nottingham. We wanted a quiet and peaceful site away from any traffic noise. It certainly proved to be an idyllic spot. We had read about the view - it truly is stunning. The pitches are level and all can enjoy the views. We will certainly add this CL to our list of favourites and hope to return to spend a little longer exploring the area.

A lovelly peaceful site with great vlews.

Just spent three nights at this great site. Entry to the site was very easy. A very flat site with fantastic views over surrounding counties. Its great to find a site that when it says "Walks from the site" they really mean it.On the Sunday we walked a mile down to Winwick Hall and had a lovely tea and cake.(only open on Sunday). Then on the Monday we drove out to Pitsford Water, which is a lovely resevoir about 7 miles round but very level walk. With a cafe half way round. On the Tuesday we walked from the site to Honey Hill. The highest point of Northamptonshire. This was 7 1/2 miles but well worth it for the views. Honey, fresh eggs and ice cream sold at the farm and also a table tennis table in a chalet. Spent the evenings with a G&T watching the sunset. Some lovely pubs in the area serving very good food. Will definately return as it is only 4 miles off the A14 so a very easy journey.

What a lovely place.

We stayed here for the weekend whilst travelling down south for our summer holiday. Upon arrival we were met by Angela who asked if we liked walking and swiftly brought us a photocopied sheet with 3 walks highlighted. The view was absolutely stunning from the caravan overlooking fields and sheep. Each day we set out on a walk incorporating a pub in the nearby villages. Following footpaths through the countryside. Definitely worth a visit!!

White House Farm CL

Just had a lovely couple of days at this relatively new CL. Easy to find though care needed approaching site entrance as it can easily be overshot as signs not seen until almost on top of them. Lovely pitching area, high up with fabulous views towards Rugby in the distance. Lots of wind turbines nearby & some would say spoil the view, but we didn't think so. Plenty of room for 4 vans though 5 might be a little tight. Water tap just outside pitching area & CWDP behind the green barn. Didn't really hear any road noise & very quiet & relaxing. Lots of walks from the site & nearby. Angela the owner is lovely & very helpful & often leaves you a couple of fresh eggs first thing if you want them. We saw Red kites, kestrels, buzzards, sparrowhawk & a green woodpecker. This CL should do well & all the best to Angela for all her hard work.

Lovely panoramic views

We had a last minute short weekend break at White house farm and had a very quiet and restful stay. The paddock area reserved for caravans and motor homes was well maintained and very quiet. We had the whole area to ourselves. I am not sure why as it is a lovely spot. I can only think that it is a new CL and still a bit of a hidden gem. There are stunning views all around and we enjoyed two nights of beautiful sunsets and a full moon. There are lots of places to go and walk straight from the farm so it is ideal for dogs. It is a short drive to West haddon where The Pytchley pub does excellent food. There are 3 pubs in West Haddon and I believe some take away food shops and more pubs in Long Buckby. We didn’t eat out on this trip but have been to The Pytchley on other occasions. We haven’t tried any in Long Buckby so can’t comment. It was easy to access the farm although perhaps a sign pointing into the field you drive through would be helpful as you don’t notice that there is a track to drive on in the field almost until you turn into it, which confused us a little. The site owner was very welcoming and gave us some local information and some eggs from the farm which were very tasty. There is a farm shop. We didn’t use it but the site owner told us you could purchase eggs and honey. The site also had some holiday lets which could be handy if meeting others who don’t have a van or motorhome. It was quite a long way to the bin which was not an issue for us but others may prefer one be provided closer to the caravan area as being in a small van requires lots of trips to the bin. Especially in wasp season. There is a recycling box next to the farm. This site would make a lovely stop over point to break up a longer journey as well as an ideal place to retreat to away from the noise and crowds of towns and cities. We had a lovely stay and will be keen to revisit often.

A hidden gem

White House Farm is just how we like a CL.........quiet, well away from main roads, on firm grass with fabulous far reaching open countryside views. Very friendly and welcoming owner and family. With easy approach roads from the M1. A real gem!! We will definitely return.
