Everything you need to enjoy the area.

We spent 3 lovely nights at Witheridge Farm Adults Only CL. This is an immaculately kept 5 pitch site which is owned by Mik and Jen. There are 3 hard standing pitches and 2 grass ones. There is hook up, water and black waste on site and all pitches have their own picnic bench. We were met on arrival by Mik who gave us both walking and cycling maps along with recommendations of where to eat locally and places to visit. Mik and Jen are very obviously proud of their site and the area and want you to get the most out of your stay. There is very easy access to The Strawberry Line cycling and walking trail, you literally go out of their front gate, cross the road and it is a couple of hundred yards up a quiet service lane. This trail takes you from Cheddar through Axbridge and Sandford to Yatton, about a 20 mile round trip. The trail has an excellent cycling surface and is mainly off road, you will have to cycle through a short section of road in Cheddar and near Sandford, there are also several roads to cross along the trail. This is a lovely cycle route and you can visit the Railway Inn at Sandford which is owned by Thatchers Cider or visit the Strawberry Line Café at Yatton Station where they serve freshly made rolls and home made cakes. During our stay we also did one of the walks Mik provided. This took us from the site along tracks and fields up onto The Mendip Way where there were tremendous views to Glastonbury Tor in one direction and across the Bristol Channel to Wales in the other. The descent brought us down via Cheddar Gorge and Jacob’s Ladder, a 274 flight of steps into the village, this walk was approximately 4 miles and not for the faint of heart, it is very steep and rocky in places. Mik also provided a less strenuous walk which takes you around Cheddar Reservoir but we did not have time to do this, hopefully next time. There is a bit of road noise from the adjacent road but this did not make our stay any less enjoyable.
