A Little Piece of Heaven

I write this review, with mixed emotions, as I am revealing the location of one of my favourite CL’s, but I think others should know about it. Woodside Farm is a little piece of heaven, located in the peaceful Shropshire Hills, it offers many things for the lovers of the British countryside. Its is just such a relaxing and quiet location to get away from the stresses of daily life. The site offers great views towards Wenlock Edge with the Clee Hills in the distance. Visitors always get a warm welcome from Pat and the family who simply wish for members of the club to enjoy their break. On site there is a very nice B&B ( AirB&B for booking ) so if you want to bring some none caravanning family along with you, here is your option. The grass is kept short across the large site. The 16amp hook-ups are along the edge of the field, allowing for wide spacing when in use. There are two water taps available with good pressure. There is a slope on the site, and some of the pitches need levelling blocks if you want to be orientated in a specific direction. We have easily got on and off the site with the caravan in damp conditions with a bit of care. There has been considerable improvement on the entry to the site, with the installation of a new cattle grid and gates, answering the comments made by earlier reviewers. There is a small garden style toilet for use by caravaners, just by the CDP. Remember to take your torch. The final approach of around half a mile from Gretton is narrow, with a few passing places, but is very very quiet and we have navigated it easily with a large single axle van. Certainly a traditional CL, with a warm welcome, and with so many people there who return for further visits. You only have to sample it to realise why they do. "We will be Back"
