wonderful views and great hosts

Having had only 2 nights on this charming site,13/14 October 17.We found it was great for visiting Wrekin hills, the walks are very good. the site is kept in excellent order by the owner Brian who was very helpful ,supplying a booklet of information on arrival, he could not have been more helpful, suggesting the Local pub which served a good Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be paying another visit next year. thank you Brian.

Best CL we've experienced!

Spent 3 nights first week in September- excellent site. Brian must be best host with greetings, huge info pack for the area, and even on hand to open and close the gate when we departed quite early! CCTV is always welcome for the added security, and the adults only is a must for us. Pitch 1 even has its own bench and picnic table. Site kept immaculate by Brian. We visit relatives in Telford each year and historically have used bigger Shrewsbury sites, with the corresponding much bigger fees! Needless to say we will be returning. Only slight gamble is not meeting a potato tractor on the small section of narrow road- which we didn't. Thanks Brian and Josie. Mark, Aberdeenshire

Fantastic CL

Just returned home yesterday from this Cl after a four night stay in our motorhome. What can I say that hasn't already been said. Lovely site with fantastic views. Two great pubs within easy walking distance. Owners Brian and Josie are really friendly and helpful. Roads getting to the CL are no problem at all very easy access. Also a big plus is the Adults only policy. Cannot wait to get back there.

My birthday treat

We have just returned from a lovely week, staying at this site. Nothing was too much trouble for Brian and Josie, who gave us a very friendly welcome. We had booked an earlier visit, but sadly, due to a family bereavement, had to cancel at the last minute. We re-arranged this for a short break for my birthday, from the 3 to the 11 August. Although the weather was very stormy at times, there are many places to visit within easy reach. We could recommend RAF Cosford, Ironbridge, NT properties nearby - Attingham, Powis and Chirk Castles, besides Shrewsbury. The countryside is beautiful and there is absolutely no traffic noise here, just lovely peace and quiet. It is important to follow Brian's instructions to the site, as some lanes nearby are narrow, especially if you have a large caravan or motorhome. We can recommend this site gladly, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect pitch

Perfect in every way, for a 5 van site, this is an amazing, site views, hosts, and space. What more could you you ask.I have now been caravining for eight years could be more, and pitched on numerous sites, but this site has it all, I keep coming back, something I've not done often over the years, as I want to visit everywhere, this visit is my 3rd visit this year to this site, and more booked, if your looking for somewhere special this is the site, the pitch size bigger than some sites I've been to,we have a twin axle van, 250, full awning and Q7, and still room between the next van, how amazing is that, all for £14 per night, a must peace tranquility, and hosts that would bend over backwards to make your stay one to remember,,thank Brian and Josie.

Tranquil

Stayed recently for a long weekend, greeted by Brian on arrival and given pitch. Huge information pack which covers pretty much everything you may need to know about the area and facilities. Site maintained very well and very pretty with bird feeders and flower pots dotted around. Good host. From reading previous reviews, I seem to be the only person that is commenting on this, so perhaps it's the norm but to us the pitches seemed too close together. If we'd have had an awning we'd have practically been in next doors kitchen. Compared to other CL's we've visited this has been the smallest spacing between vans. This doesn't detract from the beauty of the site and surroundings though and is not to put anyone off visiting but to just consider if you do like ample space. Waste point in the middle of the pitches in between no's 2 and 3 but didn't pose any issues other than visually not very attractive. No road noise at all, just peace and tranquility.

Just what we want

We stayed at Wrekin View for 15 nights. We have caravanned for over 40 years and become dismayed at how Club Sites are now very busy, noisy and expensive and as we normally use our own facilities we decided to try CL sites. We did a lot of research to find an adult only site with excellent reviews and came across Wrekin View. This site has everything we need, quiet with good views and owners Brian and Josie, who take particular pride in their site. There is even a sign with Brian’s mobile number just in case you need him. He is usually on site each day to make sure everything is in order. The site is mainly grass with three hard standings. There is a gentle slope with good drainage, which ensures it is never waterlogged. Brian has provided wooden blocks to aid level pitching and keeps the grass nice and short. We had a canopy, but didn’t put down a groundsheet in order to maintain the grass for the next visitor. The water and waste are central to the site, so no need to hike full 40ltr water containers any distance. Brian provides a comprehensive welcome pack, which we were still using on our last day. The site is secure and is gated with an audible warning to deter any would be intruders. The local pub in Withington serves meals on Friday evening and Sunday lunch, the lunch has beef, pork or chicken roasts only. The food is lovely and reasonable at £7.99. Be warned though that they only accept cash. We were expecting to pay by card and luckily had just enough cash to pay. There is lot’s to see in the area depending on what you want and Brian offers advice on places to visit, he even encouraged us to visit a butchers in Much Wenlock which makes celebrated pork pies. (Very nice too) There is no wifi on site but a reasonable 3G mobile signal means you can stream TV programmes from the internet. We recommend Wrekin View without hesitation and will be back soon. Thanks to Brian and Josie for an enjoyable stay.

Lovely CL

We really enjoyed our stay at Wrekin View. It is a beautiful well kept site with fabulous views of the Shropshire countryside. Brian and Josie were a lovely and helpful couple. The folder that was provided was full of information even down to the diagram of the dog walk which we did a couple of times. There are plenty of places to visit around the area. We also used the park and ride a couple of times and that is close to supermarkets and so we did some site seeing and shopping with ease.

Fabulous, relaxing break

We arrived at this site on Saturday 8th July, to a warm welcome from the site owners, Brian and Josie. We wanted a quiet, relaxing break and that is exactly what we got. We stayed for a week and had total peace and quiet on this idyllic site, with good weather thrown in!! Brian provided us with an information folder, that we could keep for the duration of our stay and this had everything covered within the Shropshire area, including postcodes for the Sat Nav!! There is a lovely pub within walking distance that does meals on a Friday evening and Sunday lunchtime and there is The Corbet Arms at Uffington, which is a short drive away, where the food is amazing. The Ironbridge Museums are a short drive away, as are Shrewsbury and Telford, if you like shopping. I would highly recommend this site and would visit again. The only improvement that could be made, would be onsite facilities, i.e showers, toilets, WIFI etc but this didn't spoil our stay. Thank you Brian and Josie for a fabulous week!!

Home from home with friends around the Wrekin

Fabulous welcome from Brian and Josie. Makes you feel at ease from the first minute. Very well maintained site close to the village and the Hare and Hounds. Nice pint of Old Prickly or Butty Bach. Really good pub meals especially Sunday. The Haughmond in Upton Magna is a gastropub with an excellent chef too. Ideally placed for Shrewsbury, Attingham Park, Wroxeter, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Ironbridge and the Shropshire Hills. Really quiet site with great views. We have been more than half a dozen times since the site opened including Christmas and New Year at one point. Highly recommended.
