We are on our last evening of a 5 night stay at this beautiful site and will be truly sorry to leave. The views from the site are stunning, across to the Menai Staits and Snowdonia, with horses, rabbits, buzzards and lots of other birds in the fields in between . The site is flat and each pitch has its own water, always a bonus. There is even a toilet and lots of information about walks and activities, even a few essentials you may have forgotten. The village is an easy 10 minute walk with a pub, shop and chippy. You can walk from there following a public footpath to Newborough forest and onwards to the spectacular beach, via a myriad of paths, or a shorter walk from the site between the dunes. John will advise you on directions ! John and Nia are lovely and welcoming and have great enthusiasm about the area. The site is still very new and I can only imagine that must be the reason we are here alone on a Friday evening. We shall most certainly be back, it is everything we could ask for.
Perfect CL in a gorgeous spot
Just returned from a 4 night stay and absolutely loved it, one of our favourite trips. Site is a massive field so plenty of space for the kids to play, each pitch has individual running water. Views are fantastic and location is great for exploring Anglesey and surrounding areas. Beach within walking distance or Newborough is 5 minute drive. John and Nia are great hosts and were so informative and welcoming, John came over with a Victoria sponge which was a lovely touch and throughly enjoyed it with a cuppa after setting up! Lovely little walk down to the stepping stones from the site which the kids loved. Will definitely be returning to this site.
Lovely Easter Break
Just returned from this lovely peaceful dog friendly site after staying there for Easter. Had a very friendly welcome from John when we arrived on Friday, he explained about the site and gave us information folders with walks etc. to look at. Great basic facilities - EHU & Water. Super walking from site to Beach and Forest with views over to Snowdonia. Great Chippy in the village just 10 minutes walk away. What more could you want? Will be going back again soon.
Great new addition to the CL network
Managed to get away for a last minute break and had 3 nights stay at Y Wern.
Nia called to check I had found the facilities and gave me a very friendly welcome.
As previous reviews have said it is in a good location and has superb views of Snowdonia.
Nia and John have really put a lot of thought into the site and with plans to further improve as they go along.
I wish them good luck and success in their new venture.
A great welcome

Walkers Paradise
This is our second visit to Y Wern. The site is a very large level field with easy access. Spectacular views of the snowdon mountain range just in front of you. You wake up to it, go to sleep with it, see it in all its changes. From the site their are so many walks, down to the sea, over sand dunes, through woods, over fields, (do not miss the stepping stones). Only a short drive away are lovely welsh towns. In Newborough there is a great fish & chip shop, cafe and shop. John & Nia are lovely owners, so helpful. We will be back.
Spectacular site with stunning views.
John was very pleased to receive our booking after only been open 2 weeks. We rang on arrival at the site and told we could pitch up anywhere by the water points (5 of these as each pitch has its own water point). The best pitch on the far right with uninterrupted views of Snowdonia was already taken but still great views. John arrived shortly after and was super enthusiastic about making sure we had everything we needed. Returned later with a bench for the site and some fresh veg from his garden.
John also gave advice of local walks and attractions, and of where to avoid!!
EHU and water on pitch, chemical disposal over the field to the little shed, bins in the centre of the field, grey water in the hedge. No showers or toilets but a fantastic site with lots of potential improvements to make it even better.
Thank you John and Nia.
