Great site with a couple of reservations

My first point - Directions We followed the club route into the site, there are still some challenging parts of this route in. We followed a different route out and it was by far a better route to the M25. Traveling from the East my advice is: Leave the M25 at the A206 (this is the junction at the Dartford Crossing), follow the A206 which then becomes the A2016 this route is dual carriage way. Leave the A2016 onto the B213, a main bus route, follow this road for 2.3 miles in Abbey Wood, you come into the roundabout at the bottom of Knee Hill which then gives you the easy right turn into Federation Road. (I have emailed the Club to inform them how much easier this route is). My second point - the Site Staff are warm, pleasant and helpful. The site is beautiful and as many reviews state, it is so easy to get into London for all the attractions it offers. There were a couple of negatives we experienced. Firstly, when I went to the toilet block on our first morning there was toilet roll and a toilet brush scattered across the floor spanning two cubicles. This is the first time I have experienced something like this on a club site, I reported it as we were leaving to walk to the station and the staff dealt with it promptly. Secondly, as we were preparing to leave, we went for a walk round the site, the pitch a couple up from ours had a family staying there, the smell of Marijuana coming out of the caravan was over powering. This of course was disappointing for me and my wife. More so as the family got in their Transit Van and drove off site as we continued our walk! This is the first club site we have stayed on that allows non-members, I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but it is the first club site we have stayed at that has had any negatives. Our experience over all was still a positive one, and we would return here without hesitation should we want to visit London again.

Agree with what you say about the route in from the M25 and the handbook should be changed.

I am another one who totally agrees with the route suggested above. Like JBurns I used the recommended route when going and thought - Why? So used the A206 route back and it was so much easier and much more direct.
