Week at Aberbran

We've just had a lovely peaceful week at Aberbran. The site was kept quite clean and tidy by the wardens but we were surprised and disappointed there was no recycling on site. We rarely use the site toilets, etc so they were not missed by us. TV? Again, surprised it was analogue not digital. We had a good enough signal but there was very little to watch on the 5 channels available anyway. So we got the old DVD player out to watch the movies we'd been carrying around with us for years, we played scrabble and trivial pursuit and we read books.  On site we saw lots of small birds, squirrels and pheasants. There were some lovely wild flowers in the hedge behind the caravans. We found plenty to do in the area. We were most surprised to find ourselves looking down on our caravan after taking the short walk from the National Park Visitor Centre! We went on the Brecon Mountain Railway (fantastic scenery), we went to the National Showcaves of Wales (amazing rock formations), we did the canal ride from Brecon (so peaceful) and we went to Bleanavon (it rained). The red kit feeding frenzy was brilliant - about 50 birds descended around the poor chap with a bucket of meat. All in all we had a lovely week and would definitely go back if we are in the area again.
