This has potential to be one of the clubs top Scottish sites it being in Ayrshire’s main resort. It’s close enough to the town centre, transport links and the main facilities Ayr has to offer. We were there for the annual model railway show at the Citadel down at the quay side. I’m a member of the Stirling and Clackmannan District Model Railway Club, we had a working layout on display at the event. Rather than travel the 140 mile round trip each day we based ourself at the club site. The main issues we have at this site are, access at the entrance when booking in, the rather out dated toilet block, poor tv reception. It’s a good location as a base to tour the coastal side of Ayrshire and it’s many places of interest.
