Fantastic Camp Site & Location

We stayed here from 1-4 July, first impression on arrival were very favourable as the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The pitch had plenty of room on stoned hard standing with a grass surround, easily big enough for any motorhome, Caravan or in our case a Campervan. Awnings and windbreaks must be erected within the hard-standing area, leaving the grass surrounds very well kept. Cars could not be parked in the pitch areas, but the car park was just a stone’s throw away with plenty of parking spaces, the fact that no cars were present on the pitches added to overall pleasant layout of the site. The ablution facilities are excellent, consisting of self-contained rooms likened to a row of small terraced houses, during our stay we never once had to que up to get into one of the rooms, there was plenty of hot water and each room seemed well appointed with the usual consumables and hardware. Pity some site user can’t clean up after themselves and flush the toilet. That said the rooms were cleaned regularly. The local village is a short walk away and has a pub selling decent beer. We did the full lake walk and stopped for a very nice breakfast at the Salt and Malt cafe in one of the cars parks overlooking the lake, well worth it. Then a beer at the Bear and Swan at Chew Magna en route. Great location to get to the park and rides to Bath or Bristol, but there are also local buses going through the village. All in all, a great stay, at a great location with great facilities, big bonus for us is that it was adults only, hence my only one star for families. Well worth a visit.
