Good for families

Superior site, beautiful location and warm welcome.

This site only permits people to enter from 1pm for newcomers, no earlier due to their strict routine within the site itself. If you arrive early you are asked to park in the car park or we used a nearby recreational ground, walked Rosie and the boys played. The site itself boosts beautiful grounds with open areas for pitching and some secluded ones. It is home to around 15 tourers who base themselves there for a number of months of the year. There was a mixture of grass and hard standing pitches to choose from and all a good size! WiFi signal was good, really good compared to others and we met some lovely people. There were a number of VW campers but mostly tourers and large motor homes. The site is welcome to families and dogs, it has a well established kids play park and football area (enclosed) for the kids. Perfect addition in my eye! Dogs are catered for with a short walk into the woods, close to the 1066 trail which you can enjoy. Or a longer walk into Catsfield following the wooded trail, there is a pub at the end of the lane, The White Hart Inn. You can enjoy a few drinks before heading back to the site. The toilet and shower blocks are cleaned to an exceptional high standard and it was actually nice to see no limescale or mould. The grounds are immaculate, well groomed and taken care of. It was nice to enjoy the freedom of the facilities with the easing of the lockdown rules but we still made sure we have people space. The wardens were all really friendly and supportive offering advice, hints and tips tips where we asked. You can visit the local historical town Battle - the Abbey (where the Battle of Hastings was won), enjoy the rich historical grounds and learn more about our history and William the Conqueror! It was a lovely walk around, soaking in the history and dog friendly too. We enjoyed a kebab from the local in Battle that evening delivered directly to the site (we met the driver at the gate). There are no negatives to this site, all positives and you can enjoy the surrounding towns and history in the area. We had a great stay and look forward to going back soon.
