Forest bathe

Having travelled further afield, this site came late to our stops. First visit about 5 years ago made a big impression because of the layout, location and perfect specimen trees. The site is on the footprint of a Victorian mansions gardens and is spread acros discreet areas where only a few vans are visible, so does not look crowded even when busy. The local town has enough to visit has has Bexhill for the De La Warre pavillion. This year has new wardens who seem to love the site as much as us, the facilities are always spotless and the wardens are on top of the endless pruning and grass cutting. Ke=aren was particularly helpful in recommending Ffenches fishmongers and butchers in Battle. We have been there before so know their produce is good. We alternate between walking ti Catsfield to visit the White Hart and travelling on the bus to Battle or Bexhill, leaving the van on site. The estate road leading to Catsfield takes about 20-25 mins and passes more superb trees as well as fields with sheep and horses. It;s a relaxing place and the Spitfires from Goodwood and Biggin Hill pass over on their way to carry out Battle of Britain flights at the coast, so listen out for a well tuned Merlin engine. One of my favourite sites on the network and a complete delight with the new wardens who's enthusiasm shines through.
