Lovely site, recommended even with poor weather

We were looking for somewhere to go and most of the country seemed to be at a risk of floods, it had been very wet and windy. We found the Bearsted site and couldn't believe that it actually looked perfect even in wet conditions. It is set out exactly as the picture shows, hard standings of a reasonable size with small grass areas between, beautifully clean and tidy with centrally placed facilities for collecting water, emptying waste and even facilities for Motorhome emptying. Staff so helpful and welcoming, helped us to become members and explained all the things we needed to know It was quiet, mainly older folks. The facilities are exceptional, clean, bright and well looked after. Plenty of hot water. This was the beginning of November so it may be different in better weather and in the summer. Even though we had tremendous downpours and some strong wind the site did not become waterlogged and it was still a pleasure to walk around. There is a shop on site with basic essentials and a few camping supplies. There are plenty of places to visit, by car, on the North Kent coast and it was pleasant to drive around, sometimes in the rain, sometimes in the sun. We visited most of the coastal towns and also Mister Abbey, Reculver towers and the Isle of Sheppey where we watched model yacht racing. lots of good facilities run by Swale council. Manston Air Museum was a good stop over. We easily extended our stay for a further two nights, also because it was not already busy and booked up.
