Lovely quiet site , staff really helpful.

Well, located for the Battle of Britain memorial and the coast . the service pitches were really wide and in Avery quiet spot very accessible. Two toilet block unfortunatley one was out of action due to drain problems. But this did not distract from the camp site .Walkable to the pub. We greeted with Two Hurricanes flying over most afternoons . Will certainly return as good stop over for the tunnel. Thanks Shan

First visit

First visit to this site and was not disappointed. Very convenient for Kent coast towns and Canterbury. For those wishing to use local bus services, stops are right outside the site. Across the road from the site is a little shop/post office. This is a quiet site with friendly staff.

Always a good experience

We have been to Black Horse site several times at different times of the year as we have our grandchildren nearby. We have had experience of several different wardens who consistently are friendly and informative. The site although near a very busy road from Folkstone to Canterbury doesn't detract from its loveliness. Although there is no on site shop the small shop opposite has plenty of reasonably priced items and the shopkeeper is a very pleasent and approachable man. Altogether the site is one of our favourites.

Very nice site but keep away from plots around plot 104.

Very nice site and wardens very friendly and accomadating. The site is on a very good bus route and if like us you have a car it,s location is very good for touring. Only one thing that spoilt the end of our stay was the location of the drain pumps which when being pumped out and exchange of pump caused a very bad drain smell,if we were warned sooner we would have moved our outfit to a different plot but as we only had a couple days left stayed in place and went of touring more.Great site but keep away from plots around number 104.

Hot weekend

We have stayed at this site on many occasions and always found the staff friendly and helpful. A great location for visits to Canterbury, the coast and all its attractions. This time unfortunately they seemed to have a school party camping in the field who although not noisy didn’t seem to understand the Covid rules for the facilities and on one occasion left loads of used plasters in the shower! We were also a couple of pitches from a couple with a very yappy dog that barked continuously with no recourse from the owners. We will be back as these issues are not down to the staff but the users. I have a dog and will control its barking. Please try and do the same.

Half Term Break

Had a lovely quiet stay at Black Horse Farm even though it was full. The staff are very helpful and keep the site spotlessly clean. Overall a very relaxing week.

Bank Holiday Stay

Stayed for the Whitsun May Bank Holiday for 3 nights - adult couple, in 40s, with motorhome. Was unsure what to expect but wasn't disappointed. Very friend site - staff and fellow campers. Perfectly suited for motorhomers who want to park up and explore on foot - lovely bluebell walk in Densole Woods almost opposite. Great little shop over the road and very friendly pub just a minute's walk away. Caught bus from the pub to Folkestone and Hythe (£4.50 hop on/off day return covering decent area) very 20 minutes - lots to explore in the area. Can change buses and go further afield for about £7 a day to Canterbury/Dover/Rye. Didn't stop off in Hawkinge but couple of supermarkets and pubs right on the bus route. Although didn't use the dog walk area looked good and a nice kids play area.  Also an area for tents only which is handy if anyone wants to meet up. Very quiet considering proximity to road.  Added bonus of the plans above (spitfires etc) I assume from the air museum in Hawkinge.

Great find - will be certain to return!

Campervan Stay

I have just joined the Caravan and Motorhome Club and this was my first visit to a site. All the staff and other visitors were very nice and helpful. It was just me and my dog and the facilities were perfect for the both of us with the added benefit of local dog walks. Definately reccomend the blackhorse pub as their food is lovely! Will definately stay at this site again in the future.

Black Horse - Excellent Site

Lovely peaceful site. Next to a busy road but layout means road noise is not an issue. Black Horse pub barely a 5 min walk and has good drinks options and does great meals. Great for Canterbury and must visit the B of B Monument at Capel-Le-Ferne. Also not too far for a visit to Leeds Castle. A great day out, although admission fee is a little expensive. Worth following the coastal route sign posted from Folkestone to Ramsgate. Include a detour to St Margarit's Bay. Absolutely beautiful place away from the hustle and bustle of other locations in Kent.
