We stay at this site every year for a one stop over from a return trip to France. The site is beautiful, spotlessly clean and has lovely hot free running water in the showers.   However! When we arrived this year we went to find our usual named envelope with the pitch number and barrier code pinned in the after hours cabinet only to find no envelope. Starting to feel worried that I had booked the wrong date I checked my confirmation email from the club and all seamed ok.  As we sat trying to find an out of hours telephone number the warden appeared and said they had been trying to contact us for ages via phone and email to tell us they no longer leave details in the envelopes as they have had some un welcome visitors, who got hold of the barrier codes and let themselves in, so they now inform you of the barrier code prior to your arrival. When we eventually arrived home the following day we found 1 message on our answer machine that had been left a week before (no emails). The previous year the ferry had been delayed and we didn't arrive at the site until gone midnight, if this had happened on this occasion we would have had no where to stay as I'm sure the wardens would not have stayed up waiting for us. I would have thought it was obvious that having booked an overnight ferry pitch that we would not be at home the week before to take a telephone call from them, and as the club have all our details we could have easily been contacted while we were away either via emails or on our mobiles.  I book club sites as it takes any uncertainties about bookings, we could have ended up with a very long late night journey ahead of us.  Very disappointed at the lack of communication. :(
