Beautiful site in a beautiful area

We stayed here for 4 nights recently. As one of the other reviewers said I don’t want to say too many good things as it may then get completely booked up! Firstly finding the site is a bit tricky as you go past Bolton abbey thinking the site will be just around the corner but it’s not! Keep driving and it is sign posted. The archway that a few reviewers have mentioned isn’t too much of an issue. We’ve got a swift sprite major 6td and we fitted through ok. On arrival we received a friendly greeting. The site is small so choosing a pitch is straightforward. The pitches were fairly flat and easy to pitch up on. We had a non awning pitch which didn’t give us very much room to set up table and chairs but we created a little private area behind the car. The facilities were clean and the showers were decent. Some reviewers mentioned that there were only 4 showers which is correct but we never had a problem having one. Everyone on site was so helpful and friendly. We are quite new to caravanning so any advice is always appreciated. We love the community spirit you get on the sites and I think so far this has been our favourite. Our little boy made lots of friends while we were there and the site felt safe for him to play near the caravan although there is no play area. There is an information hut with tourist leaflets in which was great. We got a voucher for bogof for the Bolton Abbey steam railway. We loved this site and would love to come back again. Thanks to the wardens who really look after the site to a high standard.
