Don't upset the Sergeant Major

I recently spent two days at the site, after several years of trying to book but always has been full.  Arriving at 1235 (OK, 25 minutes too early) I parked in the waiting area and had a walk round the site until the office opened at 1300.  Got back to my unit at 1255 to find the warden there waiting for me and proceeded to read the riot act to me for arriving too early, not in a manner that an EMPLOYEE of the Caravan Club should use to a club member, or anyone else.  A few words were exchanged and only after threatening to leave HIS site, did he relent somewhat.  I requested a site close to the toilet block as my wife has walking difficulties due to long term heart problems, only to be told that I was to be sited at the lowest part of the site at the foot of a fairly steep incline.  I was informed that all pitches near the toilet block were taken.  I had to point out to the warden that that was not true as FOUR sites within 30 yards of the TB were vacant and the keys were hanging on the board next to the warden.  I was very reluctantly, given the key fob to the pitch nearest to the TB. In addition to there being no reception for mobile phones on site, the WiFi was also unavailable. The toilet block was probably the poorest maintained block I have ever encountered in my 13 years of club membership. Somehow, I don't think I will be back at Bolton Abbey site, very disappointing and certainly not helped by the Bolshie warden.
