Spent 2 nights at Bolton Abbey, the site itself is situated right at the entrance of several walks in the area which give amazing views of the River Wharfe, however I did feel, in hindsight, that this is where we were supposed to walk rather than further afield on the fells - ok for a couple of days. On arrival, we luckily filled up with water as the following morning the site’s water system had failed and there were no working toilets, showers or taps working! Not the wardens fault I know and they worked like trojens to at least get the toilets working by evening ...... so glad we filled up earlier as still no showers till the following day. Don’t think we’ll return 😔
