We try to get to Borrowdale a few times a year with one of them at the end of October to get the glorious Autumn colours. As a keen photographer I cannot think of anywhere better than Borrowdale in Autumn. The colours and landscapes are unbelievable. The site is small and peaceful (apart from the little motorhome next to us that had a water pump that sounded like a fog horn!). The layout feels like you are on a 4-5 van site as you are several little groups in among the woods. The wardens are very pleasant and helpful as are most wardens but these seem less officious than some can be. Overall a near perfect stay with some of the best walks and scenery anywhere.
