Good for families

Good site for walking and photography.

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed hear. The drive to the site from Keswick is a bit hairy but once on the site the wardens are extremely helpful and friendly. The pitches are in small groups and fairly well spread out so that most pitches do not feel overlooked. The lack of facilities is no problem as water and waste points are always nearby. The pitches are all under tree cover so in the summer it is not ideal for sun worshipers. The location is great for walks ranging from easy and flat to quite strenuous. I feel that the site is one of the best for photographers as some of the best locations are within walking disdance ie Cat Bells, Ashness Bridge, Ashness Waterfall, Surprise View, Watendlath, Ladore Falls and the Borrowdale Valley. We plan to visit a few times next year.
