Very Disappointed and Overpriced

We have just returned home from this site having stayed here many times over recent years, however we were very disappointed this time, the club shop has closed permanently and this is a great shame as it was very convenient and competitively priced. We did not know this before arrival and were lucky we had all we needed with us although we would always use the shop to have an ice cream or buy a couple of local beers a change from what I would have at home. Also they have removed all the bins from around the site and you have to carry all your rubbish and recycling up to the wheelie bins located by reception and the toilet block next to reception. I also noticed a lot of the lighting bollards are switched of making large areas of the park very dark if you have to go to the toilet blocks late at night, I know times are hard and they have to make economies but the price you pay to stay here is a premium rate but you are not getting a premium service anymore. I don't think we will be returning here anytime soon.

It’s a shame you didn’t speak to the warden who could have explained the situation with closure of site shops and also the new dark skies policy. Most people seem to think there has been too much lighting on sites in the past. Each of these points had been discussed on the forum.

Campsite lighting is often too bright so a dark skies policy (new to me) is a good idea. You can always carry a torch!
