Mixed weather but site good as ever

Spent three nights here early December. Never seen the site so quiet - only a dozen or so units on site when I arrived and it didn't get much busier after that. Weather was sunny first day, then foggy and quite cold, but still enjoyed my usual cliff walk from Danes Dyke to Flamborough lighthouse and back. Saw a number of seals relaxing on the rocks at the base of the cliffs and also spotted a couple of deer on the caravan site access road. I was born here and spent my first forty years living in the area. But for anyone unfamiliar with this part of Yorkshire, you won't be disappointed, particularly if you like the seaside (Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough and Hornsea all within easy reach). A train ride to Beverley (voted best place to live in the country by the Sunday Times a few years ago) is recommended. The clifftop walk, referred to above, requires a good basic level of fitness and some stout walking shoes, but you will be well rewarded for your efforts as the views are spectacular. Fit walkers should allow a couple of hours to get to the lighthouse (where there is a cafe and lots of seating overlooking the bay) then another hour or so to walk back to the site along the road. For keen bird watchers there is the RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs just three miles away and Sewerby Hall and Gardens (a half hour walk away) is well worth visiting.

Well laid out site

First time at this site. Met at the car by a friendly warden who advised us on pitches as it was very windy. Nice walks from the site with a bus stop outside. My only concern is the dog walk, very wet & muddy, it’s a large open space but really needs some gravel/wood chippings putting down to make it more usable in the wet. Gravel paths would be nice. Overall a nice site.

Great Location

Bridlington CMC site, is our ‘Go To’ site if we want a few days away. It’s in a lovely part of the county, and is in an excellent position to visit many of the county attractions. The wardens that we saw remembered us from our interaction with them on a previous visit, and our Granddaughter was delighted that the lady had asked to be remembered to her. The facilities are second to none, they are spotless, everything here is a very high standard. In conclusion we once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and are looking forward to returning next year.

Possibly the best site we've been to so far

The site was easy to get to, has excellent pitches (nicely spaced), clean and modern facilities and has amenities nearby. Fisk & chips at Flamborough Head was excellent and you can get a really good breakfast at the farm shop next door. Recommended.

Lovely site but extortionate price

Loved the site - first visit. Clean facilities, helpful staff and excellent cycling. HOWEVER!! How does a club that needs our support, by people, like me, that stuck with them throughout Covid-19 restrictions, get away with charging £10 a night more per pitch because it’s the week before most peoples ‘half term’ week!!! I know I have to pay more for busy times - but £10 a night is ridiculous. This is not the way to keep members - this is the way to alienate members. Is this not a club run for its members and not just a money making opportunity?

Clean site, kept well but too many flies

The site is very clean and well kept. The new area is more open to the weather especially wind and slightly floods with heavy rain. The wardens are very keen on rules but basically we believe they doing the best job they can on a large site, don’t forget they have club rules but also local authority rules to adhere to. The main problem as many have already stated was the mass of flies which made the stay not as enjoyable as it could have been. I believe the club should be approaching local authorities on this matter.

Almost perfect,,,but not

Stopped here with my son for a few nights on a run up and down the east coast in our motorhome, Overall the site is well laid out and has very well kept facilities. As with most reviews for this site, flies, we only had a few but annoying all the same, And as with other reviews i had a very arrogant and quite nasty warden when i ventured to reception with my son for some information, This spoilt the stay as my son wanted to leave the site straight away, Hope this never happens again One bad apple can spoil the barrel as they say,

Lovely site but flies, flies, flies

During our 12 night stay the site was infested with flies. I was told by the site staff that a local poultry farm was possibly to blame when the fields are sprayed by the farmer. Our caravan was crawling with flies and no amount of fly papers and swats were adequate in keeping the flies at bay! They were everywhere - In our clothes cupboards, food cupboards , awning and caravan itself. Within a 30 minute period, the many fly papers we hung were full of the damn things. It was awful and spoilt our holiday. We fully accept that flies will get into your awning and caravan at some point but not to the extent which they were during our stay. When we asked other campers if they had the same problem, every one had. In fact, many people staying were leaving early and my partner & I decided to leave & stay with friends for the final nights. The reception was also infested with them and they were crawling all over the counter tops. The wardens advised me to contact the CAMC directly which I did & I was not the only one. We will not return!! That said, the site and facilities are immaculate & well maintained by the site staff who were, on the whole, very friendly with the exception of one who has a rather unpleasant nature. The site is well laid out, quiet and is set in a great location for a walk in to Bridlington town which is approximately 1.5 miles away.

Fly spray

This is a lovely site to stay at however there's two problems The first is occasionally at certain times of the year there's lots of fly's about so you'll be swatting and spraying. The second is sadly one of the warden's seems to have a real attitude problem. A real jobs worth and very unpleasant

Good but a shame about the flies

Our first impressions on arrival were very good, a good informative welcome with advice about how to best see the site and available pitches which resulted in us finding our pitch quickly. One occupant opposite (who was just leaving) expressed concern about flies coming from, they thought, the local farm. We were very impressed with the toilets and shower block, scrupulously clean and welcome of welcome to us, dividers in the shower cubicles. Unfortunately that evening the issue with flies quickly became apparent - they are cluster or 'house' flies in their hundreds and many, many quickly entered our caravan and resulted in each night of our stay necessitating swatting sprees. We wish we had established if this was 'just' a local pitch issue (we were very close to the Western boundary) as without this negative, we feel we would want to visit the site again however as it is now, we feel this will be our only visit. We've since checked reviews and while there are occasional (significant) mentions of the issue, it certainly has not arisen recently, we certainly have no complaints at all about the staff we encountered.
